Mrs Blackbird's nest built on one of the kids trikes at our back door.

Went looking for butterflies yesterday in the sunshine and spotted this Speckled Wood. I am quite astonished though at how few insects there are around this year so far, I only have a small garden but yesterday I couldn't find anything at all!! is this a sign of the times?

Bearded tit or Panurus Biarmicus. Lives mainly in areas with dense reedbeds. Main areas they are found in the UK are East Anglia, Lancashire and Yorkshire, and an isolated colony in Eastern Scotland. The males have two dark markings starting from their eyes which look like a moustache.

Looked like meadow pipit, but there was a pair, on rocks, on the Dorset coast path.

Haven't quite saved up enough for a flash to pair with my macro lens, but it still works great when theres enough light around.

a hole under the fence made by the passge of small animals..

Can anybody please confirm what this is ?
