A Marbled White with a parasitic red mite attached to its thorax, which apparently doesn't do any harm to the butterfly!

A female Redstart in woodland beneath the Betws mountain, Amman valley.

I saw the first Redstart (male) on April 21st so it was lovely to visit my favourite Redstart spot yesterday and see one male plus at least two, possibly three females.

The male seemed disinterested in the females but the females were chasing each other about relentlessly! Is there a reason for this anyone?

On the isle of May during the Summer this year.

Spent the afternoon up on the Mendips chasing bugs...

As seen on BBC SpringWatch Digital Grand finally 2020 !!

A female Kingfisher flips a fish around, ready to swallow head first as they always do. The image was taken in the Teifi Marshes in Ceredigion.

This afternoon in Dura Den in Fife.

Turned out nice again. :@)

I am very much a novice where damselflies are concerned, but I have studied several books and I am pretty sure that this beauty is an Azure damselfly.

This was my joint “most favourited” picture of 2017, thank you all very much for interest in my photographs.

When the photographed tries to become the photographer...

Black Paws was an orphaned fox I helped feed and she has now moved to her own territory.

As the light faded on the Scottish cliffs the last of the sun moved behind the beautiful beak and lit it up like a lantern..

Near Knapp village in Perthshire.

I was beginning to think I wasn't going to make the ten-year run on the 'Watches'… When this popped up tonight. Needless to say, I'm well chuffed.

This tiny little fella was taken up on the Mendip hills.

A new fox for me at a new spot, after a couple of hours watching it moving around its territory and playing around with 3 other foxes I crawled up to it on the frozen grass to get my shot! Well worth the effort albeit frozen to the core after!

I took this photo of a Dotterel last September, they migrate from North Africa to their breeding grounds in the Scottish Highlands. One of their stop off points for 'refuelling' is the Black mountain in the Breacon Beacons. Springwatch presenter Iolo Williams actually recorded one of his TV shows about Dotterel on the very same mountain. Sadly I have not been able to see any Dotterel migrating this year during the Spring or on their return this Autumn. I hope it's not a sign of things to come and hope next year will be better.

A rainy day in Dunkeld area yesterday,it was still good for a walk.

A beautiful and friendly bird voted the nations favourite.

As always I extend my sincere appreciation to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on my photos.

The morning sun beaming through my bleeding hearts 💕

At Loch Milldam this afternoon.

It's such a long time since I had the opportunity to photograph a gold crest, that I happily snapped away, as this little fella, flitted among the bushes on the cliff edge.

As we headed back to the RSPB Visitor Centre there was a lot of excitement, as apparently a Yellow-browed Warbler had been spotted, but was refusing to show.

It would seem however that I had a rather fortuitous encounter earlier. Not to mention a lifer lol.

Starling in my back garden, Aberdeen, Scotland.

Grey partridge are so shy, this male comes out to check if the coast is clear before crossing the path

I stopped for a walk around this lovely Bluebell Wood when I was cycling in Perthshire.

Hope everybody is well. I couldn’t resist sharing this delightful bird with you.
