There was still plenty of snow when this was taken in late July this year. Down below I included a shot I took here in 2007 with an older point and shoot just for a comparison. It was later in the year then but even so there seemed to be much less snow.

I used the SLR Magic 35mm 1.7 lens. When shot wide open, only the center is in focus.

Springtime weather today and we decided to point the car at one of the local preserves and nose about. We were amply rewarded for our effort--the weather was grand and spring was finding it's way to the forefront almost everywhere we looked. Even the plants in the shade were getting their mojo on.

Texas Hill Country.

Central Texas is world famous for its spring wildflower displays. While many of these are a result of decades of planting by the Texas Department of Transportation. In certain areas, however one can still find native displays that likely look much like they hundreds of years ago.

spring is here and it finally motivated me to take some photos!! (along with the help of Ceci, of course). <3
