It's snowing today in Amsterdam. It's has been by far the coldest Easter in 40 years!
From my balcony I can see this canal - the Westelijk Marktkanaal.
Flinke sneeuwbuien in Amsterdam vandaag. Het is met Pasen in ruim veertig jaar tijd niet zo koud geweest als dit jaar.
The Springtime Of The Soul. - Poem by Patrick William Kavanagh
Sunlight, shining on the still bare trees, warms my mind as slowly I awake,
Winter's, slow and sleepy, journey, - almost at an end for one more year.
Maybe with the dawning of the Spring, there'll be and end to all our foolish fears,
and in the Spring-times busy bustle, we won't have the time for sadness or for tears.
Amongst the bare brown fields, still edged with white, I see the first green shoots appear,
The snow-white clouds move quickly past the Sun, lest they should block His light,
The raucous call of sparrows in the garden fills my morbid soul with new delight,
and I Awaken with the spring, a lesser wakening, perhaps, but still a further step into the light.
Each year I find it tougher to confront the winters icy bite upon my face and hands.
Each Spring appears, to find me longing more and more for all the comfort of the warmth and light.
Each day flies by, and soon the Summer will appear in all its might,
and one more stage upon my journey will eased by summers cheerful days and gentle nights.
The River Sind flows through the beautiful Sind valley in Ganderbal district of the state of Jammu & Kashmir , India.Shot taken on the way from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir to the stunning tourist destination of Sonamarg. The altitude would have been over 8000 feet.
The Lady’s Walk, a path through woodland, near the village of Montacute, Somerset, can be entered from the village, from where the path runs steeply up hill, or the walk can start from Hollow Lane, to walk downhill in the opposite direction. In Spring flowers grow on the woodland floor, celandines, primroses and wood anemones are the earliest, followed by wild garlic and bluebells later. The trees are mainly deciduous including many beeches.
Sunshine, warmth, the laughter of other guests and some good company are the guarantee for a beautiful little party, held on a beautiful afternoon in spring.
With all the springtime flooding, this beaver doesn't seem to be affected by the ice floating by. He's actually in the middle of a flooded farmer's field.
... really one of my Christmas Cacti that has a mind of its own for blooming. Taken in a bright sunny window ... turned down the Exposure bias to -1 .

Daffodils around Cliffords Tower
At this time of year daffodils abound the city walls and other historic sites in York
Unfortunately due to lock down we are not able to enjoy them this year. This is a photo from 2012
Clifford's Tower is the largest remaining part of York Castle, once the centre of government for the north of England. The 11th-century timber tower on top of the earth mound was burned down in 1190, after York's Jewish community, some 150 strong, was besieged here by a mob and committed mass suicide. The present 13th-century stone tower was probably used as a treasury and later as a prison.
In 1322 the tower gained its present name when Roger de Clifford was executed by Edward II for treason. Clifford was hanged in chains from the walls of the tower, and ever after the building has been "Clifford's Tower".
Thank you for your visit, comment or fave, all are much appreciated.
