This is a footpath with new underpass leading to Church Lane in Zelah. One of my previous A30 crossing points before the work on the 'new' A30 started, and it finally it looks like I can use it again now (if there's no one around, there are still signs that work is still ongoing here).
I also checked out to the other underpass for the lane at Trevalso that I've snapped many times before, and that might be worth a cheeky go as well, especially early in the morning when no one's around.
The Royal Mile was extremely busy with tourists on this first really sunny and warm spring day of the year, cafes and bars pavement table areas were packed. I heard a lot of very loud shouting and chanting and soon found it was this group of anti-Nazi demonstrators. I couldn't see past them, but I think they were counter-protesting some right wing eejits (the far right demos are usually far outnumbered by the anti-fascist counter demos)
After this morning's belt of rain had blown through - and belt down it did, if only briefly. Like a horse peeing on an upturned bucket it was - drumming on the windows and bouncing off the road.
Yet here we are, about 40 minutes later and it's looking lovely out.
Could this really be banned? Well yes, it could, but it doesn't bear thinking about.
I got home to headlines of Matt Hancock the Secretary of State for Healthy stuff saying our entitlement to outdoor exercise could be withdrawn if people don't follow the distancing guidelines.
Thankfully, his afternoon address just reiterated that, rather than announcing it as a new restriction.
Next up is HRH Queen Lizzy Windsor this evening, we'll see what she has to say. She can't do anything legally, but she could maybe act as a primer for tougher things to come. Or maybe that's just me over thinking things.
Thank you for stopping by and your kind comments. Blogged about Spring Pink in Pastel at www.NaturalPhotographySpa.com Breathe, smile and have a fabulous day.
Busker in the very busy Meadows this afternoon (unsurprisingly lots of folk in this popular park on a warm, spring weekend day)
Gosh, looking out at the weather today, it's difficult to believe it was so warm and sunny just two or three weeks ago. Since most of the UK has been in a drought situation, the rain is very much needed, but it's a bit grim when it goes on for hours and hours and hours, as it is today.
This shot was taken in the garden of The Old Rectory at Coleshill. I think it glows better on black - click on the image, or press the 'L' key on your keyboard.
There I was, enjoying the first ride of the year on my Pride and Joy - the mighty Marin, when I started on the first climb of the day's short ride, up to Four Turnings junction.
"whirr whirr... legs beginning to ache go for lower gear - snick... whirr whirr... legs beginning to ache again, go for another lower gear - snick... clackety clackety clack clack... woo ya basket, go for another gear - snick... clacka clacka clacka clacka... momentum diminishing... clacka clacka... Mayday! Mayday! Warp drive corrupt... abandon climb... abandon climb...
Oh fiddlesticks*
How is it, you can park a perfectly functioning bicycle in your house one day, then the next time you ride it, it is utterly hooper chooped?
The damned bike gremlins must've crept in through my letterbox (the Marin is a house bike, no shed for this baby...) and clutching various spanners, screwdrivers and allen keys in their little furry paws, went and gave me a constantly variable transmission. The little bast... the little tinkers.
Some speculative twiddling of the cable adjuster saw things clicking and whirring as they should do, but how the hell these things happen I do not know. All my bikes are always left on the smallest sprocket/chainwheel to reduce tension on gear cables, so how the gears went so far out of whack while just being parked in my living room is beyond me.
But it didn't spoil the ride, and the Marin remains a cracking bike to ride, so all is forgiven.

A colorful but pastel spring floral image with a texture overlay.

ODC, White, Square Crop
The Flickr Lounge, Blue
Playing around with sunflare, with average to poor results, but this one I like for some reason and the bright white light seemed ideal for today's and yesterday's ODC challenges.
Trennick Lane Bridleway. Every now and then my nostrils would cop a great whiff of the Garlicy scent from the Ramsoms (Wild Garlic).
Three Architectural gems of London lined up and seen from one of the world's greatest city Parks. Taken from near the Albert Hall in Kensington Gardens four miles away from the Shard built recently as Europes's Tallest Building and 2.5 miles from the London Eye
Week 19 of 52 weeks for dogs. It has been a mainly cold & windy week but we were lucky and got an hour or so of sunshine when we took Taivas & Missy (Mary's FCR) out on Tuesday.
I really had the wrong lens on for this shot - I would have preferred the kit lens but I do kind of like how it's turned out, I think it gives the impression that little Taivas is quite big, lol.
