This is Moxie. She is a four year old rescue - originally part of a criminal case out of Southern Oregon, and saved by the Oregon Humane Society. Her mange left her pretty nude - and she was believed to be a Brussels Griffon mix. Once her hair grew back, and we got her groomed, we suspected otherwise and got a doggie DNA test. She's 100% Shih Tzu and I can't stop laughing that I now have a silly designer dog. She's delightful. She's not the best model yet, but she was SO good - walked beautifully on her leash, no barking, no fear, just a good muppet.

A friend from the Hocking Hills was kind enough to e-mail me Saturday that the redbud trees were blooming at their peak this weekend. So I got up at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, hopped in the car, and made a special trip for this once-a-year sight.
This is the photo version I've come up with. I also have a more painterly version at the link below:

16:52 - Signs of Spring: We've finally seen decent weather and broken the cycle of being below freezing at night. That of course has led to an explosion of color as the tulips bloom.
Wow, the weather in the past 24 hours has run the gamut. Lovely fog. Gorgeous blue skies with wonderful clouds. High temps. And a magnificent thunderstorm to cap it all off. I love Spring!
White blossoms on a wild pear tree in the woods of Breckinridge Park.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments!
As the sun was going down I noticed how the blooms on the top of this tree were catching the sun over the house, I thought it would make a nice picture to contrast the bark and lines of the tree with the color of glow at the top.
I did this in a subtle HDR so that the contrast of the tree and blooms would show in full strength, standard +2, 0 -2 and applied slight light curve to the result to darken the trunk to give a greater contrast between the trunk and the top.
Another favorite from 2005. Unfortunately I found only the jpeg format--amizingly I can now see that the EXIF is still attached. In any case, cute ladybug on a poppy whose shape initiates some daydreaming...

It’s a jungle out there! Marley in camouflage hiding out in the tall grass while I try to summon him back into the fenced enclosure.
Today is was 60 degrees! So wonderful. I decided to break out my spring jacket. Happily, it fit...it didn't fit last spring. The last time I wore it was the beginning of my pregnancy.
Anyhow, I love this jacket, but feel weird wearing it since I usually wear black or grey coats. It looks red in this photo only b/c I saturated the colors. It's really called "poppy."
As if fitting in the jacket was awesome enough, I found $17.00 in the pocket! ROCK! Finding money in jacket pockets is one of life's pleasures.
