If it is going to feel like spring in January, I am going to be reminded of the graceful beauty of butterflies.....I was lucky when we visited Callaway Gardens in Georgia.
They have a wonderful butterfly conservatory. It was a very dark and cloudy day though, and because it was raining, the butterfly house was elbow to elbow. The butterflies weren't very active either. I was lucky to capture a few though, was so glad I brought my flash...no way, without it!!
saturday morning raspberry for all my virtual friends.
real ones can experience this in person.
pfffffffffffft!~
It feels like spring to me. I have an urge to paint a room. I think that means it's spring. I've been thinking about painting my laundry room. I dunno.. I just want to paint something. I like painting.
I think I have a mind case of spring fever. I've been cleaning the house like there is no tomorrow. I can't wait to get out in the garden and get my hands dirty.
I felt kind of like a voyeur as I stepped out onto our deck in the back yard and noticed these to squirrels in the heat of passion. I thought that when animals mated it was quick but these two were rolling around in the dirt for almost 10 minutes. I wonder if there was a cigarette involved afterwards. My only regret is that i didn't have my 70-200 mounted on my camera.
“It's spring fever.... You don't quite know what it is you DO want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”

20/52 MCP Project 52 - "Spring Fever"
...with the first sunrays the bee`s and other insects are back!
Wish you all a sunny friday and a good start in the weekend!
In researching spring fever, I learned that it can refer both to high and low energy states induced by the arrival of spring. The latter comes from the German Frühjahrsmüdigkeit, or Spring Tiredness. To me, this evokes napping in the sun on fresh green grass, which led nicely into my second theme, Sloth (of seven deadly sin fame). For the trifecta, I created a triptych to address the theme of Three.
Lighting: Because it was actually a grey and drizzly day (what? rain in Los Angeles in mid-May?!), I used an SB-900 with a 1/4 CTO gel camera right to stand in for the afternoon sun, and a white reflector camera left for a little shadow fill.

ps70, that should answer your question!!!

When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
Starts to sing Spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding dong Ding dong
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune to the moon up above
It is nature that is all
Simply telling us to fall in love
And that's why birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
Cold Cape Cod clams, 'gainst their wish, do it
Even lazy jellyfish do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
I've heard that lizards and frogs do it
Layin' on a rock
They say that roosters do it
With a doodle and cock
Some Argentines, without means do it
I hear even Boston beans do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
When the little bluebird
Who has never said a word
starts to sing Spring spring spring
When the little bluebell
At the bottom of the dell
Starts to ring Ding ding ding
When the little blue clerk
In the middle of his work
Starts a tune
The most refined lady bugs do it
When a gentleman calls
Moths in your rugs they do it
What's the use of moth balls
The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,
Some courageous kangaroos do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
I'm sure sometimes on the sly you do it
Maybe even you and I might do it
Let's do it, let's fall in love
