Wish you all a sunny friday and a good start in the weekend!

on a cloudy day in spring...

In researching spring fever, I learned that it can refer both to high and low energy states induced by the arrival of spring. The latter comes from the German Frühjahrsmüdigkeit, or Spring Tiredness. To me, this evokes napping in the sun on fresh green grass, which led nicely into my second theme, Sloth (of seven deadly sin fame). For the trifecta, I created a triptych to address the theme of Three.

Lighting: Because it was actually a grey and drizzly day (what? rain in Los Angeles in mid-May?!), I used an SB-900 with a 1/4 CTO gel camera right to stand in for the afternoon sun, and a white reflector camera left for a little shadow fill.

Need I say more...

ps70, that should answer your question!!!

:-)))

When the little bluebird

Who has never said a word

Starts to sing Spring

When the little bluebell

At the bottom of the dell

Starts to ring Ding dong Ding dong

When the little blue clerk

In the middle of his work

Starts a tune to the moon up above

It is nature that is all

Simply telling us to fall in love

And that's why birds do it, bees do it

Even educated fleas do it

Let's do it, let's fall in love

Cold Cape Cod clams, 'gainst their wish, do it

Even lazy jellyfish do it

Let's do it, let's fall in love

I've heard that lizards and frogs do it

Layin' on a rock

They say that roosters do it

With a doodle and cock

Some Argentines, without means do it

I hear even Boston beans do it

Let's do it, let's fall in love

When the little bluebird

Who has never said a word

starts to sing Spring spring spring

When the little bluebell

At the bottom of the dell

Starts to ring Ding ding ding

When the little blue clerk

In the middle of his work

Starts a tune

The most refined lady bugs do it

When a gentleman calls

Moths in your rugs they do it

What's the use of moth balls

The chimpanzees in the zoos do it,

Some courageous kangaroos do it

Let's do it, let's fall in love

I'm sure sometimes on the sly you do it

Maybe even you and I might do it

Let's do it, let's fall in love

whom i've missed...

~story time~

so there i was, crouched down low on the ground a la kuya Ge the Great thinking to myself so this is what koyang G must have felt like in his garden, in the backyard, that day, stolen yoga mat holding/keeping knees and elbows and butt and him and lucio or other protected from the elements (read: bugs and worms and other mother naturey goodies)...and me pondering over one and only one question as i got up:

does gerald have to do yoga stretches/warm-ups on that same mat ni misis before he takes these darned shots? nakup! sakit pala sa tuhod netong stylistics na ito.

saludos to mentor extraordinaire i_travel_east for his valuable top-tips and inspiration-perspiration!

Spring Fever Tour

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous outside! 65 degrees, sunny, and not a cloud in sight. But oh my gosh was it hard to shoot in. I've never attempted to shoot at noon before, so it was a great experience. Any advice would be great...like what type of flash you use...etc. That is if you "have" to shoot in the harsh sun.

Hope you guys are enjoying the weekend :)
