Marley all sprawled out on the deck, turned upside down enjoying the wonderful warmth of the recent sunny Spring weather. He looks so cute all decked out in his red “made in Canada” pirate cat collar.

The black tile attached to his collar is a Bluetooth tracking device with a 300ft range...he truly has Spring fever as lately he is constantly jumping the backyard fencing. He doesn’t seem to mind it and gives me peace of mind when he does stray.

I am starry-eyed and vaguely discontented

Oh, why should I have Spring fever

When it isn't even spring? Frank Sinatra

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do what, but it is just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so.

Even though a person expects this to be a spring time endeavour , it should still mean that there will be more 'little monarchs" in the future.

After a week of single digit weather I started to get a bit stir crazy. So, since I had to bring the car in for its yearly inspection and needed to resupply the refridge I went to WalMart, Whole Foods, Jones Beach, and the garden center! And today, with temps hitting 44 degrees, I'm headed to the NY Botanical Garden....... I NEED MY DOSE OF SPRING!

Spring Fever! Falling in love with YOU … again! <3

“...stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot oftener, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more and cry less. Life must be lived as we go along. ”

SPRING FEVER - ELVIS PRESLEY

SWEET ANTICIPATION

Remembering that sweet anticipation

of childhood desires for sun and ice-cream

I never really understood until now

how far away it seems to be

Sitting in a small café I can feel the expectations

of every child who wants an ice-cream

on this sunny, happy day

warm; replete surrounded by such pleasant company

I beckon to the waitress

who clears our plates away

and even though I'm already full

from paté on toast; chutney and salad; serendipity

provides a glimpse of heaven on the menu

I order up lemon meringue ice-cream with two spoons

new on the menu it deserves a ballad of it's own

little pieces of pie that melt in my mouth so delightfully

lemony; creamy in a crystal dish

fluted for ease of spoonful movements

scoops of delightful deliciousness

washed down with ice-cold cafe latte

that is nowhere near as sweet

after my taste buds have been led astray

by that succulent dessert; oh, what a treat

I feed my face a few more morsels greedily

I stop before I eat too much

it's better to savour culinary delights in small doses

less is more, especially when it comes to food

too much would spoil and lessen it's exquisite rarity

The small boy stands still awaiting his turn

his eyes fixed on the strange blue ice-cream treat

later I asked and discovered it was called Bubblegum

if we could taste the sky would that it would taste so dreamy.
