This little lady, Etta, is quite special to me. She was born the same day that my fiance and I got engaged - and she'll be celebrating her first birthday on my wedding day. I'll never forget her birthday, that's for sure!
It dawned on me that I not only had an adorable 6 month old baby right down the street from me, but that I have two baby chicks, one week old, in my basement in the brooder. Today we took the chicks to our friends' house and for about five minutes I laid in the grass and watched the baby watching the chicks, taking photos. When this cuteness occurred, I about died. The chick started to check out the baby, the baby started to pet and hug the chick, and giggle. You just couldn't ask for a better outcome!
This is an HDR of this mornings sunrise from the backyard, taken from my porch, standard +2 0 and -2 ev.
I knew this would end up a fairly busy picture..... no, I don't really live in a jungle here in Georgia :D
Day 1 Saturday 2/5/2009 blackbirds nest in garden.
Two hatched...one egg shell from the first chick has already been removed by the mother
Oh she was less than thrilled with the glasses. And the hard bench. Thank goodness she's amenable. And I had treats! It's been dry this week and starting to warm up - unlike much of the country.. Very springlike, the bulbs are coming up and even flowering, bees are out, and overall it's good for the soul. I was excited to see on our walk today the bench had been painted again. When the weather cooperates it seems the super secret spray painting artists are at it several times a week. I have this crazy goal of getting pics with the dogs on every single one of them, although I'm certain I miss some of them! Didn't miss the irony of it saying I love you K being as my name is Kennedy and well, I know my girl loves me. :)
