Welcome Spring! I ran out of time yesterday and now I am a day late with my traditional Equinox/Solstice mixed media celebration. 5x7 Monoprint, lino print, acrylic, ink and magic.

Mount Princeton, Colorado.

Beautiful pre-sunrise light in the skies above Mount Princeton added color to the cloud cover and accentuated the snowcapped peaks. The first rays of the sun began to touch the tips of these peaks only 3 minutes after this shot was taken. It had been a snowy year in Colorado, so the snow higher up was even more pronounced. Johnsons Village and the Arkansas River Valley are in the foreground, quietly emerging from the shadows of the morning. Thanks for looking everyone! Have a great day.

Blossoms of ipê-branco (Tabebuia roseoalba), white trumpet tree, greet the spring equinox in Brasília, the second recent flowering.

As I was driving down HWY 120 out of Yosemite, I had to stop for yet another fence ... this one was just before the 'butterfly wreath & horse" fence. As you can imagine, it was the bright, vivid colors that called out to me!!

The truck was advertising some sort of auto repair shop. Don't you just love this old Ford pickup truck with the 1963 California license plate? Maybe someone can tell me what year this truck is!

Happy Fence Friday!

Thank you to everyone who sent birthday wishes to Sam in March. We celebrated his 20th Birthday on the first day of Spring by making a pilgrimage to the Boulder River.

I hope you can see Sam's sweet white wise face here

Happy Spring Equinox! For the past year or so, I have marked the changing of the seasons with a mixed media print. Let's hope that this spring brings us some renewal, hope and joy! 5x7 Mixed Media monoprint, linocut, ink, acrylic and magic on Paper.

In the Northern Hemisphere, the March equinox is called the vernal or spring equinox

After a short wander around the beach I headed back to the car park and left Newquay for home, while it was quite a pleasant day I wasn't really feeling up to wandering much more, my headache and neck pain were increasing and when I got home I went to bed for what was left of the afternoon. For the a day in the life of... group.

New post on my blog

Enjoy!

Snowdrops at the Dolina of Percedol, Trieste, Italy

Today spring starts officially in the northern emisphere (Spring Equinox).

I hope this spring will bring hope also for our poor animals in Italy. Indeed they are threatened by a bill which if approved will legalize with no problems the hunt practically everywhere and also in protected areas, along migratory bird routes and will legalize hunting also for 16 years old boys! If you want to know a little more about this look here.

These twelve sections were named after the ring of constellations that lined the sky that the Sun moved through. They are known as the Zodiac Constellations.

The Zodiac Constellations:-

What we know of astrology, at least today is that it originated in the 7th Century BC with the Babylonian astronomers in Southern Iraq in the Northern Hemisphere.

They divided the band of the sky that the Sun progressed in one Earth year (365.25 days) into twelve equal sections (91.31 days). Three sections were attributed to each of the four seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter...Read Full Article: medium.com/@holygautam/zodiac-constellations-the-zodiac-y...

The setting sun viewed from our canoe during our so called "Ice Breaker" paddle. The setting sun was amazing as it tucks under the Long Sault parkway. There was no ice in this section of the St. Lawrence River possibly due to the increased flow of water through the control dams as the International Seaway organization attempts to drain Lake Ontario so that last year's flooding does not take place this Spring.

I met up with two friends and we knitted together in The Commons for the first time in two years. I cast on the Wacky Wings shawl.
