at Winterthur. We just came back from an enchanted week of gardens and museums in the Wilmington Delaware area.

We had the Enchanted Woods- intended for kids- to ourselves on a lovely weekday. Although an adult can stand up once inside the cottage, it is scaled for little ones and is complete with furnishings inside! It is made of stacked stone mixed with pieces of ornamental cement items like balusters and decorations. Topped off with a thatched roof and an eagle on the chimney! Just a delightful place!!

The woods at Winterthur were full of these gorgeous lilies! Just such a delightful sight!

Kitty outdoor time...it doesn’t get much better than this!

Salvaged from my former yard by my neighbor when she realized the new owner was ripping out all the flower beds. I now have two happy clumps of it here and will be sure to take them along whenever we move!

Note the obligatory ant!

My husband built and mounted this nestbox 10 years ago. We've been hoping for Barred Owls to nest in it ever since. We were beyond thrilled when we saw them this weekend. :)

From my visit to Ladew Gardens in early May. Such a beauty!

From a few days ago after one of our many rain storms. There will be another tonight!

This one is definitely only for wee ones. There are two little chairs inside and only a small child could fit through the door! It is made from a hollowed out poplar trunk with a thatched roof. There are so many wonders here!

Do view large!

I have a friend visiting from Oregon and today we went to Ladew Topiary Gardens.

The Pelee Islander II sits at the government dock on the Island, waiting until the morning to take birders back to the mainland in Leamington after a week of the Springsong Festival. Built in Chile, it gives the Island ferry service greater capacity and the ability to work in worse weather than its predecessors, which came in handy last spring. We are booking travel for this May and getting pretty excited.

Looking good for 100

This tree has the most heavenly fragrance! Last year it hardly bloomed but this year is loaded with blossoms. Wish I could share the fragrance!

Happy Birthday to my friend La Route. Hope it's a fine day!
