We had some big thunderstorms Friday night with lots of wind...just about all of the flowers on the pear tree and apple tree came off and there was nature's litter all over our patio on Saturday morning. Have a great Monday.

Crocus, on a chili day, basking in the warm, near-spring, sun. You have that spring glow.
I love the luminescent/radiant look here from the combination of quite harsh sunlight (~ 3 o'clock), the almost transparent petals, and spot metering.
The weather in Czech has been really great lately. Spring is finally here :)

This is a man-made waterfall from what I can tell checking it out. Shot during the spring, I believe it is from overflow feeding out of the canal that parallels the Potomac River there near where the main falls are located at Great Falls, MD. Have been to this location many times now, and this is the only time I have seen water flowing here. If you hike along the Billy Goat Trail, you pass by the top of the falls, and in that area there is a pipe that is in the area feeding from the canal.
Man-made or not, I liked the waterfall there and feeding into the calm section of the Potomac River makes for a nice view.
Below in the comments is a recent shot of this same location in winter, under very low water flow conditions.
Taken at the Olbrich Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin. I've lived in Madison for almost 10 years now and just "discovered" these beautiful gardens. I had fun playing around with the image to give it an impresionistic painting feel.

Today was me and Mikey's 4 months anniversary and we spent the day by going out to Panera for lunch, shopping at the mall, and mini golfing. Tonight was the best golden hour I've seen in so long. I missed the sun.

My latest mini experiment. This quilt was made using Kim's Diamonds Stattler pattern Chloe 1 on muslin. The design was then colored with crayolas and ironed to set the colors.

New York State does not look like this just now ... for one thing, this is not NY State - it's Spring in England's Lake District. [the road to Ennerdale Water from the west, to be more exact] My favorite painting so far.

This is the Cercis canadensis, and is native to North America, and is also called the Eastern Redbud. Mine is native to Oklahoma and is called the Oklahoma Redbud. It grows wild everywhere here and you can see miles of pink at present in the wooded areas and especially around lakes and rivers. And it is also our state tree.
The "Judas Tree" is the Cercis siliquastrum, the European Redbud, and it grows in the Mediterranean region.
