Silver Springs, outside of Ocala, Fl. One of Florida's oldest tourist attractions and now a state park. These shots taken at the head spring which has served as an underwater stage for numerous movies.
Spring time is a time of renewal. Nature puts many things on hold for the winter. Trees lose their leaves, the grass turns brown, and many animals tend to hibernate.
We should take a lesson from nature. Why do the trees lose their leaves? So they can get new ones, of course! A whole new set of leaves for a new season of growth. Maybe that’s why trees stick around for so long. Nature is constantly renewing itself, pruning away what doesn’t work and making room for new growth. What’s not working in your life? What could you do if you were free of your old assumptions and ineffective habits?
At this time when nature is renewing itself, perhaps you should join in the fun and find your own way.

My favorite time of year in no small part because of the flowering trees all over town, especially magnolias as they are the first. Looks like we're getting 14 degree weather so good thing I got a look at them when I did!

Well we got a mish-mash of snow, wind & freezing rain this weekend, Winter is definitely here!!! So I had to post something pretty & bright to cheer myself up! I hope it does just that for anyone experiencing similar weather!
We crossed in front of the spring from right to left and turned to the right, where we came upon a Cottonmouth. I've heard it said, that a snake will know you're coming and get out of the way. Maybe with some snakes, but for sure not with a Cottonmouth. That little guy just coiled up and was ready for a fight. Luckily, he was small and we just picked up a limb and pushed him out of the way.
Wekiwa Springs, part of Wekiwa Springs State Park, is one of two springs in Apopka, FL, just north of Orlando (the other being Rock Springs/Kelly Park). Its waters join with Rock Springs Run less than a mile from the swimming area, forming the Wekiva River. The spring runs and the river are popular locations for paddlers, as the area surrounding much of the waterways is protected. The Wekiva River eventually joins with the St. John's River.
Rum Island Spring lies on a county park west of High Springs, Fl. It is one of several springs located along the Sante Fe River in this region, though most of the other major accessible springs (Ginny, Poe, & Blue) lie on the south side of the river. Its pool forms an indention along the side of the river, and in the summer this makes a popular local swimming spot. With so many springs in close proximity, and with the Sante Fe River forming some picturesque bends near the park, it is a popular area for paddlers.

Gorgeously bright day, Edinburgh very busy with both locals and tourists on a sunny Saturday. Walked through the Grassmarket and found a group holding an open-air Tango session. Dancing right there under the dappled spring sunshine coming through the newly leafy trees, casting a lovely mix of bright light and shade that was just begging for some monochrome shots. Was lovely to see people enjoying themselves like this in the middle of a busy Saturday, right there in a busy square, under the shadow of the Castle.
