We stopped off at the Springs to view the Manatee in their natural habitat. Only a few remained in the warm waters, now that it is spring they will begin to move on to other areas.

White-winged Dove was a lifer for me. It was a pleasant surprise to see a pair of them showing up perching on a tree for mroe than 20 minutes right in the backyard of a house where my wife and I happened to be staying in Borrego Springs as one of our stops during this multi-day road trip to southern California.

Wes Skiles Peacock Spring State Park, southwest of Live Oak, FL, is most widely known for its vast collection of interconnected underwater caves which attract cave divers worldwide to this obscure Florida gem. Apart from being an underwater destination, its a location of supreme and tranquil beauty that maintains an almost prehistoric character in the colder months. While swimming is allowed, there are springs (nearby too) which provide a better swimming experience. This spring is all about stepping back in time and seeing something truly wild.

Lucky to view two mothers with spring cubs in 2014 at Lake Clark National Park. Only saw these little guys a couple times, but they were active and entertaining.
