Are you chasing spring as well? It’s still a bit cold and windy here in Chicago and the weather feels really flip floppy but I’m happy that spring is finally here! On my way to work I decided to quickly run to the south side and potentially get something interesting. What do you think?

Blue skies and flowering trees! I finally felt well enough to stop at the Sensory Garden after work last night. Love all the flowering trees and especially against a gorgeous blue sky. At the University of Kansas.

"Awake, thou wintry earth -

Fling off thy sadness!

Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth

Your ancient gladness!"

~Thomas Blackburn

Threads of water pouring the lushness into the depths of the darkness. It's fascinating to watch the simple ingredients necessary to permeate life again. Spring is such a wonderful season to observe the rapid changes in nature.

There was a lovely sunrise in Morley this morning and it was nice to be able to contrast buds on the trees against the rich colours. Blurred at the foot of this image (just left of centre) is Morley Town Hall. Best viewed in light box.

a photo of last March, but the same crocus are in bloom now, but the rain doesn't want me to capture them, yet!

Daffodils in Gamla stan, Stockholm.

I've been trying to get interesting shots of the northern Lincolnshire countryside, however, they all tend to consist of oiseed rape, tree and lots of sky...

So here you have, for your appreciation, "Yellow Field, with Tree and Lots of Sky!"

Technically it is spring, but tomorrow's morning low is predicted to be 18F! These turtles were enjoying yesterday's afternoon sun.

Royal Spring, part of a small county park in rural Suwannee County Florida, is one of Florida's best kept secrets. It lies on the Suwannee River some 10 miles southwest of Live Oak, Fl. Featuring a deep and breathtaking pool, a wonderfully fun diving platform, and surrounded by karst formations, the rarely crowded Florida spring provides an excellent swimming experience.

January 2020 and it is still way too early for winter to end. But the feel of this façade definitely got me into a spring mood. On this sunny day at last I was able to test my brand new Canon tilt-shift lens in Utrecht and I am overjoyed with the first results!

THANK YOU for your support and nice comments!

One week ago I woke at 6am to the sound of different birds singing. Not our normal winter kind, but the kind you hear in the spring. I just KNEW it was Spring! Two days later the prediction groundhogs BOTH did NOT see their shadows and they announced there would be no 6 week extension of winter. Ha! I knew before they did!! Today we hit 65 degrees! Sunshine all over the place...which is both a blessing and a curse, as I have a lot of artwork to do for the shops...but I REALLLLLY want to be outside with the camera...since I was chained to my table making art all winter long!!! I promised myself if I worked on my artwork until 3p,m and cleaned up, I could go out for some photos and my beach walk, So, for 2 day now I have followed that plan....sort of...ok so today I slacked a bit but who could blame me!!! I was able to find a bunch of free supplies for a project as I beach walked so shoot me!!!

I have company coming for the weekend so tomorrow morning I will work...and deliver to the shop. Then I will meet a friend to scavenge for REALLY old artifacts in a secret spot along the sound....then come home and work more and have dinner...yeah...that’s the plan! It’s pay week for January so hopefully even tho this is off season I will have a few decent checks to deposit and get any supplies I need for March. I will be teaching a class this month on Phoneography and Editing ..wish me luck because this is WAY WAAAAAY out of my comfort zone!

This is Danube St. Beach access and it is a couple short blocks from my house in the neighborhood where I live! It was a beautiful night to shoot there! Oh and this is not enhanced...this is how it really looked to me and Mark the Third! :)
