This first illustration, which is called "Hairy Hearts," has allowed me to practice a lot with Adobe Illustrator for the creation of my "little heart of plush." I wanted to get a very realistic effect and in this I was helped by a tutorial read some time ago (link here).

I did a logo! Currently sorting out my branding, inc. the website (it WILL get finished, one day...) and business cards, etc.

It's taken me aaaages to decide on a logo design I liked, but thanks to the flippin' ace Chris Spooner - of Spoon Graphics - I've finally chosen the one I like.

I'm gonna do a big branding sheet explaining everything soon, so keep an eye out :).

Tried out a tutorial from Spoon Graphics. Made using GIMP. The version with added texture is here.

This is the original poster. The only differences between this one and the other one are the dimensions, and the texture in the background is somewhat flipped. But you wouldn't have noticed that if I didn't say anything, would you? Didn't think so.

Thanks to Chris Spooner for the textures.

This is an action called "Mignon" from a set I downloaded called "SpoonGraphics Grunge Effects". I adjusted the curves to preserve the darker tones.

Retrospective is my first public Wordpress theme. Made available to Access All Areas on Blog.SpoonGraphics (http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/premium/retrospective-wordpress-theme-for-premium-members)

This is part of another project I am working on, but on that one it is just a little tiny piece in each corner. I thought it could stand alone, too.

Inspired (and hopefully not too close to the original) by the amazing Chris Spooner.

I can't say the old male model pose suits me too well haha.

Monster tutorial mixed with something weird fragment of my imagination... :-)

check out the tutorial here.

Way less sexy than the previous couple so far, but I had no idea how brushes or clipping masks worked correctly in Illustrator.

Also, this is a very cool way of learning how to do what looks like a double-stroke.

Tutorial I used for this is located here: www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/creating-road-maps...

Jaguar XK140, I took this photo at a local car fair and decided to use it to try out a tutorial from - blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-create-a-washed...

Just trying to teach myself a bit of Illustrator since I've never got on with it before.

Tutorial is from here www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/tutorials/illustrator-tutori...

and is a pretty good one if I could knock this off in about an hour and a half with no previous Illustrator skill to talk of.

Thanks to blog.spoongraphics.co.uk for the light leak texture.

Recently been very busy with a flash project for university, which I will be uploading some screenshots and the acompanying poster with on here soon.

But now with a bit of free time on my hand i've set myself a little challenge. I'd love to do one of those 365 days a year challenges but just can't guarantee I will have the time each day, so here's my mini version..

Basically I have loads of bookmarked tutorials that I've never got around to actually trying so i've set myself the goal of doing at least one a week, hopefully more! These will be on all different parts of the cs3 suite and some off the computer stuff as well! Just to learn some more methods and techniques I might not now about and increase my software knowledge with something fun!

So the first, tutorial is:

Really good tutorial, obviously I didn't want to do the exact same, so have played around with it a bit, but was a good little learning experience.

I was following the tutorial here and was at the stage of adding the noise, so the last stage, when I decided it would be a really good idea to strip the colours out of the looks-like-no-noise-on-this-planet noise (because I have old-school PSP and so most things involve a workaround), when I remembered just after blurring it, and thereby ditching all prior cached undos, that greyscale applies to the whole thing not just that layer. There go the artfully shaped light leaks. Guess who hadn't been doing that always-save-your-work thing.

edited with this tutorial (sort of - i modified it a bit)

After going through these (1,2,3,4) tutorials, this is my very own monster.

Above, is a Vouge magazine cover, which has illustrations sprawled over the model. The illustrations are bright and minimalistic, and composed of block colours. In juxtaposition to the black and white magazine cover. These simple yet exciting illustrations bring life to the magazine cover. This has been produced by Ana Strumpf who is a designer, illustrator, an interior and product designer and a Vogue Columnist from Brazil.
