Breif- Appropriation-Body Sculpture made from recycled plastic spoons. (March 14)
This preview of my work is what excites me about textiles and gives a overall impression of my style of working. As well as showing my textile work, I have chosen a study from life drawing and pages from my summer journal; both of these have influenced my work in different ways.
The Body sculptures are made from recycled medicine spoons. The spoons were fused together in different shapes and forms to make a collection of three sculptures used to embellish the figure. Also shown is a edited close up photo of the spoons which became a experimental digital print.
My wearable sculptures are what made me decide to continue my experimentation, and lead onto my chosen brief of “Plastic Insanity”. The photo I have chosen displays the structural dress made from spoon handles and the props made from spoon heads. I have also chosen to show a sketchbook page about the spoon balls to show my process of working as well as initial ideas.
One my favourite projects “cabbage” which was heavily influenced by Yiqing Yins work, as well as printing and textile techniques. The sketchbook page shows quick sketches and design ideas based around printing of cabbage. As well as showing a development photo of one of the garments from the collection, embellished with pin tucks, ruching and digital print of a cabbage. The plaster cast of the savoy was a complete experimental piece based around becoming a head piece, or embellishment.

A spoonarama made from 5 different pictures.Exposure wasn't quiet constant and you can see the joints a bit but i have been trying my hand at panaramas and this was good practice.
