Assignment: take an object. One object. Photograph only that object. So I chose my favorite lime green spoon that I bought this summer in the UK - but, as my roommate kindly pointed out, it's black and white film. So much for the lime green handle!

A couple of OK photos here but my little IXUS 850IS just can't compete with EOS models in low light ;)

This is spoon 1 of 12 I am designing over the next 12 weeks. The theme is based n a photo that I chose at random of a wedding. The form for each spoon is to be based on, or inspired by a mussel shell.

This 8" spoon has a bowl of the same shape as my three other spoons from Iran, all of different sizes. It is finely and ornately carved, with an inscription from a 13th century contemporary of Rumi. Since the inscription (see adjoining photo) speaks of a drink (Sharab) from the beloved, this spoon shape may have been used for syrups or sorbets.
