You may notice that the car is flat while the building is at an angle. I had my choice since there's a slight incline on this street. I chose to make the car flat.

BUT, if i was in male mode they wouldnt go near me, if i spoke they would likely say F... O.. or think i,m a dirty old man. People do make judgements of us all, for good or bad

I have been waiting to take a shot of this old wheel for a while. I would pass it everyday and there was just something about it that kept drawing my eye. I am finally glad that I took the time today to stop and photograph it.

“We are

Born like this

Into this

Into these carefully mad wars

Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness

Into bars where people no longer speak to each other

Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings

Born into this

Into hospitals which are so expensive that it’s cheaper to die

Into lawyers who charge so much it’s cheaper to plead guilty

Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed

Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes”

The sun sets behind Mt. Diablo as this antique Buck Rake languishes in a field, perhaps recalling an earlier day when it served a more noble purpose sweeping hay on a busy ranch.

This old piece of farm machinery is one of my favorite subjects for testing new gear and I happened to meet the rancher who said this Buck Rake was used in his family in the 1960's before they ultimately sold it to the the present owner to be used as a decoration lining the entrance road to the golf course.

This is a single underexposed shot, double processed and fed into Photomatix for tone mapping.

Shot a new spokes-model last evening. Enjoying the green before we go to our standard brown (that everyone calls "golden" because its too depressing to call it dead or brown) :)

He spoke very good English to me and told me of his high regard for António de Oliveira Salazar, Portugal's Prime Minister in the 1960's

This photograph, taken during Giovanni Spadolini’s official visit to Bogotá in August 1990, captures one of those moments where his presence filled the room even before he spoke. Spadolini had a way of combining sharp intellect with an almost disarming calm — the kind of charisma that didn’t need grand gestures, just a glance over his glasses and a measured word.

I wanted to show exactly that: the quiet authority, the reflective pause with a glass in hand, and the sense that whoever sat across from him was fully drawn into his orbit. Even in a simple exchange, he managed to make the atmosphere feel important… with that touch of Tuscan irony you could sense even without hearing the dialogue.

This is my childhood whicker swing that now hangs on our lower deck. I was trying to get a bird shot and put my head down while waiting and saw this. It spoke to me.

On my walk through Seville last weekend I came across these very colourful umbrellas outside one of the restaurants.
