A gull glides over Centennial Ferris Wheel, the popular tourist attraction at Chicago's Navy Pier. The mirrored reflection (on the left) is from the polished metallic surface of another nearby amusement.

Honest, this wheelie is the last in this series. I know it’s no spoke when they all look the same with a white rim. Maybe I should have presented them as a tricycle... I’ll get my coat!

In case you missed the others or were two-tired to read it, here’s the science bit...

The Baku Ferris Wheel, also known as the Baku Eye and Devil's Wheel is a ferris wheel on Baku Boulevard in the Seaside National Park of Baku, capital of Azerbaijan. The wheel was built by the Dutch company Dutch Wheels. It was opened on 10 March 2014 by the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev, and opened to the public two days later.

The wheel is 60 metres (200 ft) tall and has 30 cabins, each holding eight people. It makes a complete turn in 30 to 40 minutes. The cabinets of the Ferris Wheel are equipped with conditioners. Small monitors have been set up so that passengers can spend their time entertaining. There are totally 30 cabinets which are intended for 8 people each. 2 of them are VIP cabinets which are for 4 people. From the top, passengers can gaze across the Baku Bay and the whole city, as well as look down on Flag Square and the Crystal Hall.

Found on an old John Deere.

Front wheel of a dirt motorbike and its shadow. Taken today with my new iPhone 15. I found the x5 zoom very empowering! My broken LUMIX had 32x zoom so I thought I wasn’t going to be impressed by 5x - but I am! Plus immediate process directly on phone and post.

I know, technically it is a Moth Head! The Moth Luna head to be precise. It came out awhile back!

“Thirty spokes share the hub of a wheel;

yet it is its center that makes it useful.

You can mold clay into a vessel;

yet, it is its emptiness that makes it useful.

Cut doors and windows from the walls of a house;

but the ultimate use of the house

will depend on that part where nothing exists.

Therefore, something is shaped into what is;

but its usefulness comes from what is not.”

Happy Wheelie Wednesdays

The wheel on this '30 Chevrolet coupe really spoke to me.

Steve Jobs 1955-2011 - the man who made the world go round.

To me, it is a completely lost art to imagine traveling in a conveyance like this, much less building one. Heck, I want a seat warmer, and intermittent wipers.... ODC : lost art

An old shot dug out from my 2019 files ... didn't seem like THAT long ago!

A little tone mapping and some textures to taste, et voila!

Why not take a look at my "Cycle" album!

"trying to think out of the box" - Not sure if anyone but me will like this, but this image spoke to me, and I thought the effect was cool so I went with it.
