What a pitty

I was pleased to see a Tomato can be a vegetable. Shot near 1:1, this is a very small, underdeveloped 'Tiny Tom' variety.

HMM!

When using your kitchen scales, don't drop the half pound weight.

It could be your big toe next time! ;-)) Not your tomato!

As my youngest said, "It isn't snowing. It is 'slushing'." Yep, snow splats everywhere!

This is my sister, and I just wanted to test this out and see how it would look, and I loved how it turned out.

When it rains in the Republic of Ireland, it BUCKETS down, monsoonal rains in India have nothing on the Republic.

Despite this rain, Mr. Killen decided that a trip to Kinsale was in order which was a looooong way from the Hotel and he has an uncanny knack of finding the longest route possible.

So, as you can image, photo opportunities were virtually non existent until we came across Harbour View Beach.

Despite the howling wind and lashing rain there were a dozen people out on the bay para-sailing and they were having a blast as they were fairly whizzing across the waves.

I followed this particular chap as he seemed to like doing a little twirl as he came to our end and get airborne.

I don't think he had practised his landings though as inevitably he would fall off his board and land with a thump into the sea.

I was more concerned that he was going to impale himself on the remains of the jetty and one of us would have to rescue him.

Yes, I know, I have a very vivid imagination!

We did finally end up in Kinsale and didn't even bother getting out of the car because of the rain.

Oh well there is always next time.

My eldest went to one of his long time friends 13th birthday party today. They went paintballing and we were to pay the way in lieu of a gift but I made these as a small gift for him anyway. The faces are caricatures of Justin and the cookies are fondant covered chocolate cookies. There were a few bruises after this...not from the cookies, from the shooting lol!!!!

I haven't been out shooting since my trip to Moab. So here is some Green to contrast all the reds and oranges that are in my stream. I should have saved this until Wednesday but I'm going to be out of town. Hope everyone has a great week.

It was good to blow the dust off some tins today....

Springtime temperature swings have a big impact on the snow. The big flakes of the previous night had condensed into slushy wet concrete "heart attack snow" by morning. The result is more of a splat then a whoosh when L517 crosses the berms on Washington Ave, dirty snow is packed tightly on the pilot from all the similar encounters east of here. March 25, 2024.

A very wet day here!

Spent most of this evening trying out paint splats. What a job that is I can tell you. Trying to get the right consistency of paint to make a splat, getting covered in paint, making sure my gear was far enough away to not get splatted......... oh my days!!!!

Nearly 400 images shot this was the stand out one of about half a dozen usable shots. A little bit of tidying up in Lightroom and here we go. My first paint splat effort. Will be trying this one again as there's some fun to be had I think.

so i was doing this for HTFM when I realized the commercial was supposed to be about a store not a product so yeah I wasted a lot of time but I did work hard! Hope you guys like it!
