On the floor of one room which served as a studio inside the Reed's house at Heide, one Australian Modernist artist has had fun. As to whose work it might be we can only speculate. But as I said in a previous photograph, most great Modernist Australian artists spent some time here at Heide. I like to think of this shot as a kind of abstract befitting the creative era of the 1930s to the late 1970s.
* PERSONAL NOTE:
I must apologise for not spending as much time on Flickr this week. I am assisting the Australian Electoral Commission in preparing for this Saturday's Federal Election, so my time is very limited at the moment. Please excuse my late responses to your comments and to my visiting your pages.
A group of ducks apparently struck the window at my dad's house. Originally there were 6 visible ducks, and you could see every detail, from the feathers to the nostrils on the bill. Now only the center duck is recognizable. Bizarre.

As mentioned in one of my cherry shots, strawberries don't bounce..... they just kind of go SPLAT. It's not as dramatic as the cherries, but Squeeks has been whining about seeing the shots that I tried with a strawberry, so I revisitied them and this one has grown on me. ;)
...someone evidently didn't like his face.

Despite my protests, winter has in-fact come.. very early. Don't let all the fur fool you, I'm a warm weather creature. I didn't like the fridig cold of the Shiverpeaks and I'm not a fan of it here either, but I'm going to make the best of it either way. Rudy and I went to one of our favorite little winter hideaways today, where we naturally engaged in an EPIC BATTLE to end all EPIC BATTLES! Of course we mean a snowball fight. I'm not going to say who won or who got the most hits in, I'll leave that for you to decide. Now, I'm off to find a warm fire and some hot chocolate.

Pop art!
Why should photographers be left out of the fun? In fact one of the seminal pop artists used photographs for the basis of many of his screen prints. Andrew Warhola Jnr., better known to the world as Andy Warhol is one of the most famous names in 20th century art. Andy was not just an artistic trendsetter, but a lifestyle setter.
I first came into contact with Andy Warhol the lifestyle setter during a job I had in my first year of university. It was filling supermarket shelves at night. One of my co-workers was a huge Warhol fan. Remember that this was the 1970s, so a peroxide blonde guy wearing a Warhol T-shirt and black jeans was not something you saw every day. You can understand how he enjoyed filling the Campbell's soup can aisle!

This work is made from a manual cut and paste of numerous photographs I have taken with my Nikon. Nevertheless it is a collage technique that pre-dates the digital era. It could easily have been produced in the 1960s when Pop Art was emerging as a major influence on art and culture.
This is about as far removed from cyanotypes as you could imagine. Although that gives me an idea to explore for the future.
It is merciful to give a guy who has been in a desert a cup of water, not not to tell him to go on a diet. Why not try Jesus.
