Splash! by Pin the Tale. Performed in Lyric Square as part Theatre in the Square 2013

A quick trip to Hastings today to collect new glasses, did not have the camera with me so a few quick snaps with the phone.
The Splash Lagoon system generates very high fun waves (1.2m – 1.8m) in a variety of patterns within a free-formed pool that can have several beaches if required!!
It's one of those moments I'll probably never see again. An incoming wave splashes up against the rocks as a California seal reaches up.
For the people who asked how I did the golf ball splash.
Splash #1 and #2 where done using only the 2 yellow spotlights you see in this photo. I just dropped the ball and used a remote shutter switch to trigger the camera when I thought the time was right. I think the photos done this way worked out better than the ones below with the flashes.
Splash #3 and #4 where done using the flashes that can be seen to the front left and right of the fish tank. No spotlights. The "studio" was dark, camera set to 5 second exposure, then I dropped the ball and triggered the flash when I thought the ball was hitting the water.
Hope this helps.
A C-pod youngster splashes its tail while a group of mothers behind try to sleep (good luck with that).
This is the second time I've seen that he/they/it has splashed with paint so watered down it barely registers. Admittedly not my best work, the street light was out that night and I couldn't see a damn thing, but what the hell do they care? I finally added the "r" I missed last year, but cattle markers don't write too well on soaking wet plywood. Oh well.
