To me this image represents the very essence of Patagonia and its beautiful spirit. I have held off on finishing this piece for a couple of years, but always seem to return to this composition. The final image ended up being an exposure blend of three images in photoshop in order to get the correct flow of the falls balanced with the light in the sky.

Spirit Falls is famous among kayakers and photographers. This unique 33 feet waterfalls has amazingly beautiful turquoise water. I had been want to get the fall colors on it for a long time and so glad I can make it during my short trip.
It took me some efforts to get down to the spot, and I took the shootings from different spots, and here is the first share from this amazing water falls with full fall colors and large water flow. A truly paradise!

The iconic view from Jasper National Park. After the half hour boat cruise to the end of Maligne Lake, you are given 10 minutes to snap your shots before the boat's horn sounds, letting you know it's time to race back to the boat. This was my second visit to the island and I still want to go back. Maybe next time take the photographer's boat cruise which gives you a couple of hours there. So, any of my Alberta friends interested in an outing there in the future? ;-)
This is an image that is close to my heart. As a teenager I had a poster of Spirit Island in Lake Maligne on my bedroom wall. The landscape mesmerized me and I really wanted to one day see it for myself. That day finally came in 2015, and what a perfect day it was. We missed the boat that we were planning to take by a few minutes, but were told that an extra boat was being prepared because of high demand. And so we left half an hour later than planned. What a lucky break that was. I guess it was meant to be. The previous boat had only clouds, as did the boat that left half an hour later, but just for our boat the skies opened, the sun came through and I was able to take this iconic shot. The fact that there was a dusting of fresh snow on the mountains wasn't bad either. Ten years later I am still so very glad that I was able to shoot this.
Original spirit level on Hasselblad 501C/M (2000) w/ Zeiss Chrome Distagon 50 mm/f4 (1966). New (?) working well with old, 34 years difference in production year was no problem in the hands of Victor Hasselblad.
Das neueste Schiff der Meyer Werft, konnten wir bei unserer Helgoländer Inselrundfahrt fotografieren. Das Schiff befand sich auf einer Testfahrt und hatte vor der Südspitze Helgolands Anker geworfen um das Aussetzen und Aufnehmen der Tender Boote zu testen. Am 10. Juli soll die Jungfernfahrt rund um England ab Dover starten.
The newest ship of the Meyer shipyard, we were able to photograph during our Heligoland island tour. The ship was on a test drive and had anchored off the southern tip of Heligoland to test the deployment and picking up of tender boats. On July 10, the maiden voyage around the UK will start from Dover.

One of the coolest spots in the Columbia River Gorge is Spirit Falls. It is located on the Washington side of the gorge. The hike down to the falls is quite sketchy and unmarked. This spot is pretty popular amongst kayakers to kayak down the 33' waterfall. The water is quite amazing with its blue turquoise color. A definitely must see while out in the Pacific North West. Enjoy!
After taking forever to finally leave Augusta due to NS holding them up, Q197 finally gets about 47 miles outside of Augusta as it passes the former Georgia Railroad coaling tower in Camak. Leading is the 3194, the companies "Spirit of Our Law Enforcement" engine. This train is often pushing 15,000+ feet long in the age of PSR, & with the usual power consist of one engine up front & one mid-train, this & counterpart 198 are pretty easy to chase & will have the whole 170+ mile subdivision to themselves due to their extreme lengths, which isn't necessarily a problem since they are also the only regularly scheduled road trains on this line. 6-14-21
A beautiful little falls in Washington USA. It is a steep and slippery little goat track down here but it is well worth it. My legs were very sore for a few days afterwards though!

Spirit Lake sits at the base of Mt. Saint Helens in Washington state.
In the upper left of my image, you will see thousands of trees that were violently stripped from the mountainside during the violent eruption of Mt Saint Helens in May of 1980.
Approximently 80% of those trees now sit at the bottom of the lake.
The trees are in a petrified state, and will probably remain in the lake for hundreds of more years, or perhaps thousands of years!
