We made it here on a kayak and a canoe. It was a tough paddle for 4.5 hours, so we started with the sunrise to bit the unpredictable winds on Lake Maligne, with only one stop for 15 minutes. Do I have big muscles? Nope! You can make it too! We met a few canoeists on the way there, and they were singing “Yellow Submarine” to add to the rhythm of paddling. What a treat and motivational tool to keep paddling!!! We started singing too. I guess, it helps to be determined to get to your destination. It just gets easier!!! Enjoy it!

Spirit Island, a tiny tied island in Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park, AB, Canada.

This is not really what I wanted to post at this time but I came across it and could not resist. This is one of two springtime additions to the backyard, this one being a lot whiter than the other one. It obviously is a spirit squirrel and no, this shot was not taken in the environs of BC’s spirit bear. Perhaps the ley lines and portals of this backyard have something to do with this. Will keep track of this and report of its progress.

Bei unserer Helgoländer Inselrundfahrt konnten wir dieses Schiff fotografieren, es befand sich auf einer Testfahrt und hatte vor der Südspitze Helgolands Anker geworfen um das Aussetzen und Aufnehmen der Tender Boote zu testen.
Am 5.7.22 wird es erstmalig in Hamburg erwartet

Been awhile since I posted a monochrome image. Sometimes b/w works as good or better than technicolor presentations.
My long-exposure capture of Montana's Ousel Falls captured the mist trail nicely as it floated downstream. Truly an enchanting waterfall.

"Spirit Island"
Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park.
The island is a spiritual place for the Stoney Nakoda First Nation, who believe mountains are physical representations of their ancestors. The fact that Spirit Island is surrounded on three sides by the same mountain range is very rare and makes it particularly significant to the Stoney. The color of the water is different at Spirit Island than where cruises depart at the Maligne Lake docks. The further south on the lake you travel, the closer you get to glaciers, and the more emerald-colored the water becomes due to the presence of rock flour from the glaciers.
For this image, I smoothed out the water to give it a more peaceful environment. This was one of top three bucket list locations from this adventure. Moraine Lake at sunrise, walking on a glacier on the Icefield's Parkway, and Spirit Island in Jasper NP. We ended up driving over 4k miles from KC to the upper parts of Alberta, Canada. What an adventure.

The chalk paths and trackways of Southern England are special routes, leading through the Downs, going past our prehistoric past of barrows and tumuli, henge's and Celtic Forts. The Romans preferred the lowlands, cutting up through the valleys.
I love to be walking these ways especially at twilight, when they seem to glow, when spirits can follow.

I was told by several people that when a Northern Cardinal comes to you it is the spirit of a loved one that you have lost. This cardinal flew up to me near my mother's birthday. This photo is dedicated to the memory of my beautiful mother.
Not so golden light, the hour is late, but the green fully compensates for it. Again, not much for the focus point or composition, just the peaceful spirit of the place. That and the memory of being there...
