The Stanley Steamer held the world land speed record (127 mph ON A SANDY BEACH!) for steam-powered automobiles from 1906 until 2009 - when a British steam car reached 140 mph (on a paved runway... yawn).
Did I mention the Stanley bros. were smart guys?

A collection of three high-speed videos of birds in flight. The first two videos are shot at 240 frames per second, while the hummingbird was shot at 420 frames per second. Also, the hummingbird clip was accelerated for the first second or two to normal speed, then slowed down to native playback speed.
Shot with a Casio Exilim EX-FH100, processed with Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
Video is running at 32 times the recorded speed. I was heading to Infineon Speedway to attend the 2012 Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival.
