Mooresville, NC - goo.gl/Yo5az0 What a weekend for racing! The 2015 Holley LS Fest that was held September 11th - 13th was an absolute blast with great racing weather (minus a little rain on Friday afternoon), lots of LS powered cars and a bunch of racing. This is one of our favorite events of the year because of the sheer amount of activities that are going on all weekend. There was always an event going on so no one can say they didn't get enough track time.
The event started out Friday with a mix of drag racing, autocrossing and the new road course event at the NCM Motorsports Park at Bowling Green. Unfortunately due to the rain that came through Friday afternoon, the road course became more of a "fun run" with no times being counted to the official score. Kyle was in his trusty DSE 1970 Camaro Test Car and ran it hard all weekend. There was no shortage of DSE "Equipped" cars either, we were thrilled to see so many out there competing. Raymond's Performance ran their DSE "Equipped" 3rd Gen Camaro and the car performed great for the first time out. Kyle Tucker was able to qualify for the Chevy High Performance High Noon Shootout but unfortunately he hit a cone during his run and came up just short of winning.
Saturday was jam packed with action. The Top 5 Autocross was held and Kyle qualified but came up a little short of taking the win. Saturday night was more drag racing but this time under the lights which made it very exciting. Sunday was the 3S challenge which is very similar to the Speed Stop challenges we have ran at the USCA events. Once again, Kyle and the DSE 1970 Camaro Test Car were running strong but just not quick enough to take the top spot. With his finishes, Kyle came away with a very respectable 3rd place overall finish. Congratulations to Danny Popp for winning the Grand Champion award and the Past Grand Champion's cup.
Last, but certainly not least, it was terrific to see Todd Rumpke not only at the event but running the autocross strong in his 5th Gen Camaro. His cancer is in remission and we are all glad to have our buddy back at the track. You looked great out there, Todd!
The team is going to now head back to Bowling Green next weekend for the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association's 4th Nostalgia Nationals at Beech Bend Raceway Park. We hope to see you out there!

Detroit Speed sponsored driver, Jordan Priestley of JDP Motorsports, had a tough go of it this weekend. Saturday was all about the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge. A full day of road racing at Portland International Raceway. Brian Hobaugh claimed the overall fastest time of the weekend while Ken Thwaits, in his DSE "Equipped" 2014 Camaro was the fastest 5 gen.

The legal speed limit rises from 30 to 45 headed out of the commercial district towards the I-95 interchange. Apparently the town couldn't afford a '4' for their sign (in the shadows under the tree) so the road is illegally posted 35.
Popped down to Vazon to recycle before the festive season starts and found this guy speeding across the bay
