Parv Venkitasubramaniam's research interests are in developing theoretical foundations for privacy in networks. Specfically, he applies tools in statistical signal processing, information theory and game-theory to study fundamental trade-offs between privacy and performance in networks under different adversarial conditions. He is also interested in studying anonymity in a more general category of networked systems such as peer production, smart grid networks and transportation systems.

My spontaneous adventure has come to a halt. There were many good guesses and some right on the money. I enjoyed how so many of my flickr pals sent me private notes to make their guesses so as not to be a spoiler or tip off others. Jetsquirrel guessed Savannah, Georgia correctly...she was the most accurate and specfic guess of the bunch...granted she revised her guesses a time or two. The beach and ocean scenes were from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina...my first trip there and it was awesome...more pics to follow in the days ahead.
I'm back to work tomorrow and there is an unfortunate dread that sets in...I love almost every part of my job, but there is an element of yuck that pulls me down...a wise gentleman once shared a latin phrase with me that is loosely interpreted as, "Don't Let the Bastards Get You Down"...a good mantra that I must repeat regularly.

when i called to ask about access levels patrick explained that there were stairs but also were places you could hang out.... hhahahah My specfic important question was "how do i get a room closest to the bathroom without stairs in between" and this was the closest though he offered to clean out a sort of utility room and move a bed in there for us. I said I could do the bedroom with 3 stairs up, a courtyard, and 3 more steps up and asked if there were handrails or grab bars in the bathroom. When i showed up patrick had so sweetly moved this ramp to cover the stairs to the bedroom! I was really touched.
But the funny part is the ramp was actually really hard for me. I couldn't get the chair to it by myself because of deep gravel in the courtyard (as you see here in photo) And walking up it was harder than stairs because of there being no handrail. i will send him a letter explaining about handrails and grab bars and how they can be important. I managed t his ramp all weekend pretty well with a cane -- sometimes it was easy but mostly it scared the hell out of me especially going down.
Also despite our long conversation I never realized the main areas of the community house were up a big flight of stairs PLUS once you were in it, there were stairs internally to go anywhere at all and the bathroom was at the bottom - so there was never an area where i could be without negotiating them (often without handrails) A challenge and I am lucky that after the long drive I could do it and bounced back just fine. i credit my "physical therapy"...
People *want* their place to be accessible and they feel weirdly guilty and so they are over hopeful and vague in their descriptions of access. I ahve learned to ask very specific questions.
Petaluma firefighters are using carbon dioxide gas to
extinguishing a fire in a canola grain silo that has been smoldering since
Sunday night.
Petaluma Fire Chief Chris Albertson said on Thursday crews are
pumping the gas into the top of the 110-foot silo at the Dairyman's Feed &
Supply Cooperative on Washington Street. The fire flared up around midnight
on Thursday.
Firefighters had been pumping the heavier-than-air gas into the
bottom of the silo but designed a nozzle and hooked up a high-pressure gas
line from a truck to the top of the silo on Thursday, Albertson said. The
hope is the carbon dioxide will percolate down through the smoldering grain
and extinguish what's left of the fire, Albertson said.
It could still take a couple days for the fire to go out or it
might have to burn itself out, Albertson said.
Neighboring businesses and residents have complained about the
"burned meat" odor and are reporting headaches, Albertson said, but the
burning vegetable matter is not emitting toxic fumes.
Several years ago firefighters tried to douse a grain silo fire
with water but that only created an oatmeal-like sludge that took days to
remove by wheel barrow, Albertson said.
Once the grain is no longer burning, it will be placed on a
conveyor belt and hauled away, Albertson said.
The smoldering fire began when 80 tons of old grain began
decomposing and spontaneously combusted firefighters said.

Here is a second photo of the wands side by side outside of their packing boxes. You can see how beautifully well done the packaging was done for the Italian Cresent wand. They have a wonderful picture of Sailor Moon holding the Cresent Wand, the scout symbols, pretty pink packaging and the new logo too. The box for the 1995 Cosmic Moon Wand came in pretty rough shape from an Amazon seller. I had to tap the inside of the plastic insert because it had came unglued in shipping. I wished they had fixed it before shipping because it caused some rubbing damage to parts of the wand. You cannot see it enless you are looking specfically for the rubbed spots. The box has some corner wear in spots but it's not terrible for a seventeen year old packaging.

For this image, I have manage to finish the rigging process as I made several joints for the entire body. I also added controllers for the entire mesh on the ground, around both feet for the rotation of the ankle and the entire leg, rotation for the hips, rotation and spine movement for the upper body, 3 specfic Spine movements on the back, 2 neck joints rotations, shoulder controllers, pivot axis controllers for the elbows, and hand controllers for the rotation of the wrists and arm positioning, along with driven keys for the clenching andmovent of the fingers within the hand controller attributes.
From the last upload I had a few problems with one of the arms and feet, but I have certainly fixed them up with a some relative ease, by mirroring the arm correctly as I accidently did not make the local rotations axis mirrored, hencewhy it was reversed from the other hand. As for the feet, I ordered the Heel-Toe-Ball-Ankle joints completely wrong, leading to disconnected constrants that was messing around with the mess and foot movement, I so simply remade the feet controls. The problem I had with the feet involved me not tempting the problem to arise again by not doing the more complex foot movement, but not only for just that, I felt my animation did not not that much foot complexity, although I did do the complexity for the hands as I believe a lot of hand movement is needed for any animation, plus I wanted to at least try some complex rigging.
After all the work was finished I cleaned up the rigging process with freezing any unnesessary movements of the controllers and arranged the hypergraph, with controllers on the left side fingers within the middle to move then in the animation if I wanted single finger movement in the animation and all unimportant items to the right, ready for the animation process.

As I have researched for Carters HErps Book, I have learned far more than I thought I would. Mountains Garters are rare on the valley floor, in fact only in a specfic part of the Sacramento Valley. To find a member of isolated population is some serious science for a 6 year old girl and a 7 year old just out on the trail with Daddy
I am Back In The United States.
But not really IN,
because so many people
make you feel unwelcome.

where I was Loved
but without material basic comforts.
Unto a Place,
where I am invisible and unloved,
somehow,
yet,
saturated with material pleasures.
Leaving a specfic area,
where people make in 6 months,
what the checker in the supermarket here,
makes in one day.
Yet in Brazil they gave me a Smile,
with their empty hands extended
in greetings.

to stand in her line?
Back in America spinning.
Not happy there,
nor thrilled to be here?
Am I impossibly

with The World and my own person?
Hmmm?
Well maybe with my own person,
still, quite a bit?
But??
Wait?
There's Switzeralnd...
My home for so long??
One day I shall be able to return!!

I'll admit I don't/didn't know a lot about what's going on in the world. Specfically, the Black Lives Matter movement and protest. But I'm learning and educating myself. In addition, I don't follow much mainstream black culture (if I even know what that is; countless rappers with "Lil'" in their stage name?; big brands like Nike and Adidas?; fried chicken?; what's a stereotype, what's real, and what's created by the music industry?), so when I saw "How sway?" I had to read it ten or more times to make sure I wasn't misreading it.
While editing these photos, I looked up the meaning: Reaction to someone doing or saying something that is completely impossible. Unheard of, not realistic or hard to understand.
How Sway? = "How is that possible?"
"How Sway?" was invented by Kanye West during his rant to radio host, Sway.
Please see Kanye West and Sway interview: Raw and Real on Sway in the morning

It was the first organised protest I had been to and it was a much bigger crowd than I was expecting. There wa very little protection from the sun and it was 30.5ºC (87ºF).
I was standing at the back of the crowd so I had the ability to move around with all my camera gear. Hence, it was difficult to hear what each speaker was saying because there were only some small speakers setup at the front of the speaking platform. This is something future protests should be mindful of; if you have a message to share, make sure it can be heard (through the A/V system). From what I could hear, the messages were similar to what has been expressed on social media. Something I had not heard said prior to this protest was: If you have privilege, use it. I think many of us do have privileges and I will do my best to use mine to lift those in oppression. Photography and video are one way I know how to do that.
Most people were wearing masks due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In general, that makes me frustrated because I don't recognise anybody and not seeing someone's mouth (or someone seeing mine) inhibits the emotion they're expressing. I can be smiling ear-to-ear with sunglasses on and the person I'm looking at has a seemingly stern and dismissive appearance on their face. I can't wait for the masks to be done with.

Steven on the side of Clouds Rest. I taught the rookie everything I know but that took about 10min. Then he taught me what was correct. This was a great trip to see some awesome panoramic views (my fav). Just going though my catalog looking for things to teach on and some specfic examples for classes therefore I am just pulling out some photos to publish.

Well the weekends over... :(
Back to usual Monday of a normal photo, this specfic one was taken in Whitby on a school trip. Had to do some serious processing on this one to pull some detail out from the sky.
Comments Appreciated.

Bad Day.
Talked about college with my mom. Not fun.
100% Sure I'm applying to Academy of Art. And unsure about SUNY Fredonia, SUNY Purchase, and Fitchburg Stage College...I should look at places in Oregon too but I haven't gotten around to it. I have no idea where I'm going, I'm so confused and I can't afford any of these places. I can't even afford Scraft. I'm so frustrated because my major is specfic and I'm not going to have a lot of general classes, blaah. I wish we just won the lottery and I could go wherever I want, it would be so much easier.
