I didn't get the name of this band, and I only saw them while they were doing some sound testing.

Most of the foam pieces have a 1.75"Thick x 6"L x 6"W custom made hard pink foam backing glued to the backs of all the 3" acoustic wedges and 3" pyramids.
It is in great working condition. It allows the acoustic foam to be floated off of the wall about 1.75" away causing a 3D floating in the air visual look.
It also helps with extra sound absorbtion because the sound waves get absorbed twice the amount then if applied regularly.
We actually did sound tests with a sound meter by measuring the dbs. It sounded way better and looked really cool. :) Double win!
Recording the school Gala concert went really well. We set the correct date/time on all the digital video cameras, adjusted the white balance, completed all the sound tests checked for the best camera locations, got in position early with some good tripods, spare batteries and film cartridges in our pockets. This picture was taken of our setup from the back projection room. Onto the editing phase!

Arrrrr Matey, I hear there's buried treasure to be had behind these castle walls!
That or it's great place to take a leak.
Some sound test demonstration where the sound will travel through the wall to the other wall.
Cut shell sound test.
Equipment used: Sennheiser E604 & SM57 on toms. Presonus Digimax pre. Compression & Eq added to mix. Motu 2408mk3 & cuebase.
My goal was to cut down a set of extra toms I had to make dragging gear around Ny city easier while still maintaining a good sound.
Considering that these remo heads are about 8 years old and very used I think the cut shells sound great. A fresh set of heads and the tone will be even better.
Example of asbestos-cement ("transite") perforated panels, generally installed to ceilings, but also found on walls.
Often mistaken as non-ACM "pegboard", this ACM was typically marketed and installed for its acoustical dampening properties, such as in maintenance shops, music practice rooms, sound testing chambers, engine/mechanical engineering labs, soundstages, offices, old telephone "booths", kitchens/cafeterias, auditoriums, etc.

An F-15EX Eagle II zooms through the air during a flight test Oct. 31 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The aircraft underwent various ground and flight acoustic testing to create a baseline noise level for use by the Department of Defense. This was the first time this type of in-depth digital acoustic sound testing was done on any F-15 model. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
