I've been trying to get the best out of my dictation software, but whilst it seems to be excellent at coping with the more complex words, my poor annunciation or pronunciation of the smaller link words such as 'and' or 'the' don't always seem to be picked up which can be frustrating.
Whilst I thought that I was using a fairly decent soundcard and microphone set up I know from trawling various support forums, that people swear that USB microphones work much better for them than the analogue versions and so I splashed out and bought a logitech USB microphone that seems to come in for quite a bit of praise.
Only time will tell if it works after I've re-trained the software a little bit better...
This is a quick macro shot of the top of it, with an intentionally shallow depth of field and processed with a creamtone B&W feel to it.

my laptop has hdmi, linked my hdtv and surround system via my laptop with hdmi to skype (just as soundcard) now when the phone rings. the whole soundsystem will start to shake the place. then via the bluetooth or some other device (plantronics will do) I can pick up the incoming call. works great for video conferencing also. the future is here.

A little comparison, there is this huge difference in size, but i guess that's ok when we listen to something that is lossless.
Center: Sound Card with Instructions $114.95 Left: 3" 8 OHM Speaker $12.95 Right-Top: Rechargeable Battery Kit $14.00 Right-Bottom: i pk 6ct. Track magnets $4.00. Total kit cost $160.15. It only took me about 4-5 Hrs to complete and that's with a few minor interior body mods. I'm no electrician and my soldering and electricla skills are pretty low. If I can do it, anyone can!
