No Labels hosted a Problem Solvers Conference in Washington DC, on March 1-2 of 2017, to let Congress know of the hundreds of citizens across this country that are tired of the political gridlock that is getting this country nowhere. We were there to let Congress know that it was time to #fixnotfight.
This looks a lot like the Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) but rather than a white strip around it's neck, it has a white chest. As it turns out, these are some domestic ducks that have joined the ranks of the wild. Further explaination can be seen here.

Kumba lounges on his new favorite thing - the kitty climber! It's the first piece of furniture that doesn't result in his being squirted with water when he climbs it. Happy Cat!
As an added bonus, I do believe I have solved the mystery of Kumba's parentage. I'm fairly sure he's a Maine Coon, or at least has a great deal of MC in him. Note the amazingly long ear hair (there's more of it than shows up in the picture), and while you can't see it in this picture, the fur between his paw pads is also shockingly long. He's got fairly short fur on his back, fairly long fur on his belly and the backs of his back legs, and his tail is as long as he is, or longer, and long of fur.
I've always wanted a MC, and never really thought I'd get one - around here, NO ONE turns them in to the humane society, they are nearly always kept and loved. And when one does show up, it's adopted immediately. I am tickled beyond words to realize that through utter chance, I have somehow managed to adopt the breed of my dreams, rescued from the back of a Missouri pickup truck before he could starve or be drowned by a mean old farmer.
