It was my first Solar Weekend, even though the festival in Limburg was celebrating it's sixth birthday this year.

The line up wasn't spectaculair, but the atmosphere and general vibe certainly made up for that.
Solar is such a colorful and creative festival, it sure won't be my last visit.
I bought ten of these that were defective returns, six work now. You really do need to go solar on trail cameras they eat batteries.
This was a solar CD reflector concept I tried to build, but it didn't work really as I expected. I'll try to see how it can be useful though, as it reflects the solar light in the central axis of the prop, but it doesn't have 1 focal point. And initially that's what I was trying to achieve: 1 focal point.

This picture was taken from the Solar, a fancy bar at the 17th floor. I was there with my friend Miriam. The panoramic view is so interesting because the city is mainly plain and doesn't have many skyscrapers. It reminded me the Unique Hotel, in São Paulo

Two more teams have crossed finish of timing in Angle Vale this afternoon in the Veolia World Solar Challenge. The second team from Japan, Ashiya at 4.19pm were fourth to cross ahead of team Twente (5th) from the Netherlands at 4.26 pm.
While the first three teams already across the finish of timing, Tokai from Japan (1st), Nuon from the Netherlands (2nd) and University of Michigan (3rd) celebrated with a traditional fountain dunking today in Victoria Square Adelaide, mother-nature dished out another hurdle for theother 34 teams who were still making their way to Adelaide.All teams struggled to make headway under the extremely heavy cloud cover with speeds slowing to less than 30 kilometres an hour.

University of Colorado Solar Decathlon presents a CORE home- a modular design concept coupled with an energy-efficient building envelope, sustainable interiors, and an integrated energy delivery system Tuesday, August 26, 2008. The so-called “Green Frontier Fest” is being held at the Sculpture Park on the west side of the Denver Performing Arts Complex during the DNC. The event will feature exhibits and displays on renewable technologies and ways to protect the environment at home. Provided a canopy and shelter for the paved area underneath. Generated (supposedly) enough electricity for 42 houses.

The Uterne 1MW solar power station has been built in Alice Springs
and was developed in partnership between SunPower Corporation and
Power and Water Corporation.
The $6.6 million power station was supported by $3.3 million in funding
from the Australian Government as part of its $94 million Solar Cities
program. It is the third iconic project to be installed in Alice Springs
and when fully commissioned, will be the largest tracking solar power
station in Australia.
The plant consists of 3,048 ultra-efficient SunPower mono-crystalline
panels installed across 254 tracking arrays. The tracking arrays are
bedded into precast Ballasted Footing. The footing are 32 MPa concrete
moulds at a minimum of 2,400 kg to ensure support of the solar
panels.
EPC’s BarChip Structural Synthetic Fibre was chosen as the primary
reinforcement in the Ballasted Footings. BarChip fibres provided
superior crack resistance during installation of the panels and removed
the need to transport and set up steel reinforcement in the concrete
moulds.
