In case you were wondering, the cake decoration is a graph showing household energy consumption (in blue) with the energy generation of his solar PV array overlayed (in green). Includes such details as a spike in the evening when his ungrateful children come over to use the dryer.

Today was a big day - got the dormer roof replaced with 60 mil membrane. It's been a pain for the last 2 years with the leaky skylight and buckling long mineral roll on the shallow pitch.
Had the the skylight replaced and a solar tube installed on the other side of the roof (regular pitch). The weather cooperated early on, then poured just as the dormer was finished. Then the sun came back out and poof the solar tube was installed. These guys rock!
Solar arc around the late afternoon sun today. Tomorrow will be relatively cool but the day after won't be - it is forecast to be 36°C/97°F. Color/processing variant.
It was a pretty green festival. Only the plastic forks to get rid of next year. I didn't actually talk to these folks, but was impressed by a friend who's had one for 20 years. He's had only one repair to do on it in that time.
