Cycling into central London to meet a friend and was struck by how empty the streets were. Never seen anything like it in all my years of living in London.

The secret of a traffic-calmed street is that it's supposed to feel right at slower speeds. Alas, look at this vista, it just says zoom zoom and maybe slow down around an obstruction here and there. More tree canopy, enough to shrink the sight lines, is what we need here to do that.
