Tangible Memories
My grandfather has been dealing with Dementia for a few years now, even though his health is declining and his memory going, he holds to few experiences. He is an avid NASCAR racing fan and he has been to and watched tons of races during his life. He has kept every ticket from each race that he has attended and never lets a moment go by to not share his experiences of something that means so much to him. It is special for me to be listen to him reflect on the memories he does have.
Vita Sage Snyder arrived January 29th, 2011, after thirty-six hours of tiring labor. Mom thought she had a healthy diet, but she had not yet discovered the principles set forth by the Weston A. Price Foundation. Although a healthy birth weight of eight pounds, Vita had severe GERD and colic. After converting to a WAPF diet (along with going gluten-free) everything started to get better; the GERD completely stopped, the crying lessened and as an added bonus, mom's postpartum depression lifted. Today at nineteen months, Vita is a happy, curious and gentle toddler with an impressive vocabulary. Her favorite traditional foods are salmon roe, raw milk, and grass-fed ribeye. She also continues to breastfeed. We are so grateful for the information put out by the Weston A. Price Foundation and look forward to many years of delicious and healthful meals to come.

We went exploring in an old magnesium plant outside of Snyder this trip. The place closed years ago and had a huge fire at some point after they closed. No one has cleaned up any of the place since then.

Mike Snyder, the Director of the National Park Service's Intermountain Region, unveiled a plaque designating the site of the Heart Mountain Relocation Center as a National Historic Landmark. He spoke very movingly about his own family background and the importance of preserving sites like Heart Mountain that reflect the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, and that serve as reminders of the importance of civil liberties during times of peril. Built 1831-1835, this 2 story log and frame house on a granite foundation has exterior walls covered with board and batten siding, and wood shingles on the gable roof.
The position of the house within the Confederate battle lines Warfield Ridge made its use as a headquarters by officers of McLaws’ and Hood’s Divisions likely. Confederates of Hood's division marched past this house and across the surrounding land during their attack during the attack on July 2, 1863.
Most of the interior fabric of the house was replaced or reconstructed by NPS in early 1970s when the original first floor was removed and replaced with nonhistoric fabric. It was rehabilitated to its 1890s appearance in 1991-1992. This home stands unoccupied and “mothballed”.
