This was playing around with simulating a night shot. (It was shot mid afternoon.)

I'm not a big fan of the company but the cake was fun to make.

Snusfabriken / Snuff factory JTI – Japan Tobacco Industries, Vårgårda, Sweden. January 28, 2009.

The french representation of the Chinese man on the top of the box has always looked a bit cartoonish to me, but the abalone is quite beautiful.

And I won’t listen to your shame

You ran away, you’re all the same

Angels lie to keep control

Ooh, my love was punished long ago

If you still care don’t ever let me know

“If you as parents cut corners, your children will too. If you lie, they will too. If you spend all your money on yourselves and tithe no portion of it for charities, colleges, churches, synagogues, and civic causes, your children won't either. And if parents snicker at racial and gender jokes, another generation will pass on the poison adults still have not had the courage to snuff out.” - Marian Wright Edelman (1939 -), Children's Advocate, Founder and President of the Children's Defense Fund.

U JUST GOT SNUFFED

17 May 1970: Snuff Mills. My parents posing rather formally in front of the spring flowers.

Decided on a whim last Sunday to take a trip over to walk Archie round Snuff Mills and Vassals Park in Bristol.

Part of the Frome Valley Walkway I spent many a happy time mucking about round here growing up as it's all part of getting out on our bikes and going off out through Eastville Park.

Archie loved it and so did Eleanor and we even bumped into Weird Old Hattie climbing down through the woods with his family in tow.

He tells me his kids were well impressed that me, a complete stranger to them, knew their names ! The power of flickr !

First-rate snuff

Leave aside the vagaries of spelling: the Muttrah Souk in Muscat, Oman is a delight to wander around. It was hot outside, but the wide lanes of the souk were actually relatively cool and restful – and the whole place smelled delightfully of Frankincense.

I brought Snuff home today and introduced him one at a time to each member of the gang.

Snuff was a little scared to leave his castle in the woods, but I assured him that he was safe with me, and he rode on my back the whole way home. When we got home, not only was he surprised that there were so many animals, he was surprised at how big they were! He had never seen anything larger than spiders, and the occasional sparrow or mouse.

Despite his initial shock, he soon grew very friendly and he is getting to know us more and more as time goes by.

My friends were all thoroughly delighted to meet him, and it has been decided that he will be officially part of the gang.
