Bury all your secrets in my skin.
Come away with innocence, and leave me with my sins.
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again...
So if you love me, let me go.
And run away before I know.
My heart is just too dark to care.
I can't destroy what isn't there.
Deliver me into my Fate -
If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you...
Ooh, my smile was taken long ago,
If I can change I hope I never know.
I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss.
I couldn't face a life without your light,
But all of that was ripped apart, when you refused to fight.
So save your breath, I will not care.
I think I made it very clear.
You couldn't hate enough to love.
Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend.
Then I could hurt you in the end.
I never claimed to be a Saint...
Ooh, my own was banished long ago,
It took the Death of Hope to let you go
So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul.
You never needed any help...
You sold me out to save yourself...
And I won't listen to your shame.
You ran away, you're all the same.
Angels lie to keep control...
Ooh, my love was punished long ago,
If you still care, don't ever let me know...
An attempt at a final?
What do you think?

Babette & Snuff on baby granny waiting for someone to love. Tried again but yet another dark & dreary day so the picture isn't the best.
In China snuff bottle was known to have made of variety of materials. Brass, bamboo, Ivory, jade, porcelain, silver, gold, crystal, jade, .... You name it. Now, I am presenting a unique one. It was tested as shown with a magnet. So I think that it probably was made of a meteorite. The space rock is known to be of same age as the universe or over 4 billion years old. Isn't it amazing?

Finally got it!
This shot was literally 2 years, 5 hikes, and two separate trips in the making – but I was finally - finally - able to pull it off June 2012!
Grant and I had been to Ludington State Park the year before and stayed several days in an attempt to get a good shot of the Big Sable Lighthouse – and we failed. (See the blog post from 2011). Every evening we’d make the 4 mile hike – only to end up with conditions that didn’t work out like we’d hoped.
Well, I’m nothing if not persistent, so this year my wife Rose and I went back to see if we could finally get a good image of the lighthouse.
This particular evening we began the trek to the lighthouse, keeping a careful eye on the clouds off to the west. Would this be the night or would they simply snuff out the sunset as had happened before? As we continued along the sandy shoreline I kept telling myself that you can’t get a cool shot with colorful clouds without running the risk they would work against you.
When we finally arrived at the lighthouse I knew right where I wanted to set up – all the past efforts at least gave me a good idea where the best shot was!
So I setup the camera, debated exactly where to place the tripod and what lens to use, then settled in and watched the show. Sunset wasn’t all that great, but as the sun slipped further and further below the horizon, the clouds above and around the lighthouse started putting on a fantastic show. I snapped away and even managed to capture a few little stars coming out.
As we hiked back I wasn’t sure if I’d really captured what I was after, but a few minutes on the computer put all doubts to rest. I’d finally captured the shot I’d set out for over a year ago.
Xylaria Hypoxylon or candle snuff, this small fungi was growing out of old decaying wood with water droplets on it.

Snuff Mill Lane, Sheffield. UK. The lad now trapped in the basket was the piece of street art on this wall before the major phlegm work - I like the way he has been incorporated in the new work.
A fabulous little olde world shop selling snuff, pipes and tobacco. It took me back many, many years to the 70's when my nan was alive and used to live with us. We used to be sent to the shops to buy a little triangular bag with her snuff in which she put straight into her snuff tin ;-)) I wonder what nan would think of 'the managers snuff of the month'?
If you enlarge the image and look through the window you can see a little olde world man doing his books at the counter. I did go in and ask to take his photo but the results were very poor.

This label doesn't appear to be as old as the text and illustration seem to indicate, and it probably dates to the 1930s or later.

Really beautiful collection of snuff bottles
Snuff bottles came into vogue during the Manchu, or Ch'ing, dynasty (1644-1912) with the popularity of tobacco smoking. These bottles containing snuff were carried in sleeves. Made of brass, amber, horn, ivory, wood, jade, quartz, porcelain, enamel, glass and other materials, the bottles are among the most delightful of Chinese small art objects. The finest work ceased after the Ch'ing dynasty ended.
