This old Ford withstands the chill of winter. With the coating of snow and the design of its grill we could call it "Grampa Ford".
Waiting for the first sunrise of the year from the top of a hill in Lapland overlooking Norway, Sweden and Finland. It was VERY cold up there, I don’t know what the temperature was but with the wind chill factor added on I can only describe it as extreme. The locals were very excited to see the sun as they have been living without it for about 9 weeks – the days are dark, sunrise merges into sunset plus a few hours of twilight and that’s it for the day.

A rare DMV winter storm means a good opportunity to take the snowmobile pair off the shelf after getting the shoveling done. Aleks Stein came up with this snowmobile design for his NDC faction back in 2011, and I built these two back in 2014 to go with the now-disassembled arctic Humvee.
Fulufjället national park is huge, so in winter they use snowmobiles to move around. As mountains are covered with snow, the only way you can orient is by those crosses on the poles that mark the paths. I don't know how it is for others, but for me they look like rail-road crossing signs :)
New business in Bear Lake selling snowmobiles. They even have the "Farmers Special" a tractor to plant frozen peas.

The schools were closed. The garbage pick-up was postponed. No mail was delivered. Surprisingly, I think most people stayed home. Tonight any snow that melted will refreeze and turn into black ice. Driving conditions will probably be worse tomorrow.

this cool ipod app called " you gotta see this" lets you sweep your ipod camera across a scene and it stitches it together for you. i tried it at a snowmobile race.
Definitely not based on MW2.
In all seriousness, this build was a bit of a pain, especially the rear section. I wanted to use actual tread links, but that failed, so I resorted to a variation of Aleksander Stein's solution.
I will most likely post a photo that features all of the details of this vehicle, but in the meantime, enjoy this "action" shot of the build.
