'distance' being a rather ambiguous term, obviously. ha!

Thank you Santa Cruz for your fog this morning...it totally rocked!

A big thanks goes out to JoaoMorgado for trading moos with me. Me thinks he likes Architecture! ;0)

Ed Sheeran mural - Tyler Kennedy Stent, Bath St., Dunedin CBD

Easter 2018: Ed Sheeran performed three gigs in Dunedin to sell-out crowds.

This mural was commissioned by Dunedin City Council to mark the occasion and was painted by Dunedin artist Tyler Kennedy-Stent.

As was expected, thousands of selfie-snappin' Sheeran fans flocked to the site, forcing the council to install signs warning motorists...

Feast:

During the Tourney many feasts are held by nobles for the brave contestants who dare to take part in the Tourney. Show your character feasting upon various strange and exotic dishes in a great hall.

I decided to do an outdoor feast in a courtyard of a more Mythronian/roman styled building. for the food, what is more exotic then the Juicy Rainosian mountain pig

Something about the Westside Wednesday Ride brings out the "sinset" vibes. The group stopped to fix someone's flat and I just started snappin'. Love that Drew saw me trying to capture this and threw just the right shape.

Thank you all to my Flickr Buddies! I'm really addicted to this site! I do hope you all have a great week ahead of you... As for me, I've to stay Silent for awhile... Study, Study, Study! Keep On Snappin'!!!!! :)

One of the simple things that bring me joy is being a passenger and just being able to take a ride and keep driving with no particular destination in mind. These days I can't do that because we have to social distance and the person I social distance with is an Octagenarian who doesn't drive anymore. I am her driver.

Pandemic Self Care. Processing pics from the boneyard (my “vault” that stores pics I have taken, but never processed and/or posted). Stay safe everyone.

Ok, so it might not look like it is 92 degrees here.....but, sadly, it is. How I miss New England!

This was edited on my laptop, so color/light might be off a bit.

Pretty proud about that, my latest publication just came out in Photography Week, the world's best-selling digital photography magazine.

I know I haven't been very active lately, my new job is keeping me quite busy. I hope you are all doing well Flickr friends. Keep snappin', be happy and I hope to resume shooting and sharing with you all soon! Take care!

......or should that be an Islandhill Tail?? I remember thinking the shape of the light was very fishlike?

I'd like to wish a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you all in 2018....keep on snappin' :)

so, yeah! one gets to a popular touristic destination snappin' around and at the end his most interesting 'artistic' pic turns out to be a b/w shot from the city's best known landmark. that's a classic! XDD

well, it was worth that sunny afternoon loittering around les champs-de-mars while drinkin' cheap wine from the supermarket =)

++++++++++++++++++++++

Isn't he cute!

I set the seeds in the hood of my lens and just started snappin.

Time to kick it into high gear. I've got 60 or so pictures that I want to do before the end. If I want to fit them all in this year, I've got to stop stalling and start shooting.

Big shout out to Aaron Nace. Aaron offers a digital enhancement class where he shows step-by-step how he's created some his recent images. He teaches a huge variety of techniques in a clear and effective way. I learned more in the last 4 weeks than I have over the last year. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, I would highly recommend checking out his class.

With flags snappin' in the wind, CP 2246 leads the Holiday Train at mile 60.7 on the CP's Windsor Sub. She's only minutes from a performance stop in Chatham before heading to Windsor.

Major Spoilers ahead for BVS as I give my thoughts on it. I just got home from seeing it, so it is fresh in my mind. And oh boy, man this movie. I don't know.

I'll start with the things I liked.

Batfleck: Love the suit, love his fighting style, thought he was great.

The Dark Knight Returns References: There are several references to it, as well as a scene almost directly adapted from the novel.

Doomsday: Yep, I liked this turd looking thing. Never really minded the look, and thought how he was created in the film was fine for this universe.

Lex: Holy shit I expected to hate Lex, but I didn't. Would have preferred a more comicy Lex, but I can tolerate this version as a beaten, abused son of og Lex.

The Wayne's Death: Loved how the opening credits were of this. And I like how they went with the version where Thomas Wayne tries to fight back.

JLA References: The cameos of Cyborg, Flash, and Aquama Lexcorp video files were pretty cool, especially Aquamans. Also, Barry had a stache.

Dessert Batman: Seeing Bats in a trench-coat snappin necks and shooting people was sweet. It's rare we get to see a Batman that kills. Also, I don't really mind the fact that actual Batman in this movie killed a few people. Batfleck feels like a Batman who ran out of fucks to give, and just does what he wants to criminals, and I like that.

Superman putting a terrorist through some walls.

Dude that got no legs in the Wheelchair. IDK why, I just liked that guy and how he hated Superman.

Bombing of the US Senate during the hearing.

There is probably more I liked, but I can't remember them currently.

Sassy Jeremy Irons Alfred

Now things I did not like.

Not enough Batman action for me, but I understand why since it isn't really just a Batman movie. But still, you don't see him in action in the suit that much.

This movie was long as hell, and was so fucking boring. Like damn, how the hell can I get bored at a Movie Call Batman V Superman. It just kept going. every time I thought it was over, it Lord Of The Ringsed me and had another ending.

Speaking of that, THE FUCKING BATMAN V SUPERMAN FIGHT SUCKED ASS. It's fucking 4 mins long and consist of them throwing each other around a bit. Sure Batman uses some gadgets at the beginning, but it just turned into a throwing match.

No surprises. I felt like I saw literally all of this film just from the trailers. Literally, the best scenes in the movie (Batman clearing the warehouse and the BVS fight), and both of those scenes were almost shown in there entirety just from trailers.

Any thing with fucking Lois Lane and the Daily Planet. God all of them are boring, useless, and fucking stupid. God i fucking hated Lois Lane in this. She's so damn needy and bitchy. And she just does retarded stuff. She's literally just there so Superman can save her ass. And the daily Planet stuff was just pointless filler.

Not enough Doomsday evolution. He does evolve as the fight goes on, but I wish he would have gotten spikier and had the spike "beard".

The Bat vehicles. I hate the design of both the Batmobile and the Batwing in this movie.

Superman Death: I don't care that they "killed" him, I care that they won't keep him dead. If you are gonna kill him, grow a pair and keep him dead. Don't kill em and then tease he is still alive right at the end. Either kill em for good (or at least make us think he is dead and don't tease he is alive), or don't do the death at all.

So yea. Not terrible, but very boring and disappointing. If a fucking cartoon movie can have a better and longer BVS fight than your multi million dollar budget movie, something is wrong.

So yea, I can't really recommend this one. I just didn't like it as much as I wanted to.

One last thing, can anyone tell me who the fuck Batman saw coming out of his computer telling him something about Lois Lane? was that supposed to be Jason Todd? If you can, shed some light on that, cuz I don't know who that was supposed to be.

Not all panoramas are just of mountains ya know.

Something light on an historically heavy day in America. I've voted, so now will follow the events as they unfold.

p-мinusTen Nine Eight Seven Six Five Four Three Two ∞ One

Today for p-мinus countdown, we have volunteer guest speaker Bobby Ray pimp from Guion, Arkanasas to do the introduction.

Howdy partner! I reckon that you just step right on in for this here day three fiddy six of ma brotha pimps pictures of himself endeavor. See he alreadys finish snappin' dese fancy pictures almos' six whole months ago! But you know what mamapimp always said, “if ya ain’t gonna do somethin’ right pimpydoll, then you’s don’t wanna be doin’ it at all sweetbuns”

So check out the rare grin. After shooting 355 of these badboys, this is only the 13th time I have showcased a smile for one of these pictures. In case you aren’t the math wizard I am, that is only 3% (plus most of those were in the very beginning).

Why is that? Why am I about to wrap up posting a yearlong self-portrait project in which I almost never smiled. Doesn it portray a positive emotion of laughter and happiness. Undoubtedly these characteristics personify more than 3% of me. So what’s the deal?

Here’s the answer: it’s become generic. For photographs anyway. We have made the smile de facto when taking a picture in our culture. It’s what you been asked to do for almost every lousy picture you have ever taken in your life.

“Say cheese!” followed by some goofy ass smile. It’s like the blueprint for all modern day photographs unless everyone happens to be drunk.

So after a lifetime of smiling, I wanted to deviate from this model. I never felt entirely comfortable conventionary smiling for a photo anyway. But hell if I didn’t have fun smoking all these delicious cigarettes.

The shot at hand? Although here I am not really truly smiling in the sense I’m referring to. This look for me seems about as bona fide real as you’ll get from any of my staged 365 photos . It’s exactly the kind of look I envisioned in my head when I first thought about it. Although after this 1st shot, I tried 30 to 40 times to do it again and couldn’t.

There’s something very “Quentin Tarantino” about this picture that I think makes it astoundingly rad. Thing is I can’t quite come up with the word to describe my body language. Can you think of one word to describe this other than “happy”? I think there is more to it than just that.
