This weeks theme "Material" was chosen by Gary, Gazman_AU.

I chose building material.

This photo was taken when I was in Delhi, India, in 1971, it has always fascinated me!

I was leaving local park when this big fella decided to cross my path. Made sure I stopped traffic so it could make it safely across the road. (Cell phone capture)

petit chat d'environ 1 mois trouvé sur le bord d'une route, surnommé "snap" le temps de lui trouver un propriétaire... ce qui n'a pas mis longtemps :)

a kitten, about 1 month old, found on the side of the road. We gave him "snap" as nickname, just for the time to find him new owners... which happily didn't take a long time :)

黃腹琉璃 Vivid Niltava ... The red color ones that resemble fireworks are actually "Many-seed Idesia" that usually reap around February and serve as big feast for all kinds of mountain birds. However, the one this Niltava is snapping is a different plant (may be called Chinese Sumac?) which is another bird's favorite.

I'm a sucker for a little motion blur of a train pulling into a subway station.

A snap from a recent walkabout during a trip to Washington, DC.

I occasionally see large snapping turtles like this one in the backwaters of the Little Miami River in Warren County, Ohio.

Lots of people come to Mud Lake to see the Painted Turtles, stretched out on logs scattered around the Lake. But this was an unusual sight: a mid-size Snapping Turtle taking up much of the log, surrounded by the much smaller Painted Turtles.

Up Cottonwood Canyon in the Bighorn Mountains east of Lovell, Wyoming, there is an area of big fallen rocks I calle "Snapped Rocks". Here large rocks rest along an old landslide. The name, however; comes from the several trees in and around the rocks whose tops appear to have been snapped off during a wind event like a microburst. These "snapped" trees, visible in the photo, are quite common in the lower reaches of the canyon in others places besides the big rocks. Most of the trees affected were cottonwoods.
