As I settled to take this the eyes looked at me and focused and the jaws slowly opened revealing the pink interior and those big white teeth. From somewhere I heard the words 'Why don't you pop over for a snack!' I took the photo and left.
Taken at Amazona zoo, Cromer, Norfolk England.
I presume it was trying to find a place to lay eggs. Why they seem to like the gravel on the side of the road, I can't imagine.

Amazing to watch, and fun to photograph: the Snapper climbed up on the log, and gradually lowered its head into the water, and dozed off for a while. Physical distancing rules were observed at all times.

What a beautiful spot for an afternoon swim outdoors - enjoying the magic and nature of Magic Lake on Pender Island, BC :-)
(You can even see a large dragonfly looking like a distant helicopter, top-right.) It's the stuff idyllic summer memories are made of.
Snapped on iPhone SE with similar pics to follow from my Nikon.
Not sure of the species. It was about the size of a normal dinner plate. Now, several months later, if it's still alive, it's probably buried in the mud somewhere, waiting for spring.

Whilst shooting a sunrise on Bamburgh beach, Northumberland, with my “big camera”, I thought I’d try out my new iPhone 12 and take a quick snap. Processed using the iPhone Photo App.
It’ll be interesting to compare against the other photos when I’ve finally processed them in Lightroom.

London United’s SP40102 is pictured on Castelnau about to head for Fulwell whilst working on route 33. At the time of posting, it looks like the bus only did one rounder so a very lucky snap!
Like many Canadians, we were out to see the fireworks as part of the 150th Canada Day celebrations last night. We hadn't been for a while and had difficulty finding a spot in the large crowds, which cut it a bit close - I was still setting up my camera when the first missiles went screaming up into the sky with a snap, crackle, and pop! I caught this scene after missing the first salvo.
