Love and solitude are the one ground of true maturity and freedom. Solitude that is just solitude and nothing else (i.e. excludes everything else but solitude) is worthless. True solitude embraces everything, for it is the fullness of love that rejects nothing and no one, is open to All in All

Talisker Point at Talisker Bay on the Isle Of Skye. This is not a million miles from the Talisker Distillery that makes fine whisky.
Just for the record the title refers to the transition from water to sky and vice versa and not the current state of the Brexit process!!! This gem was first shown to me 6 years ago by a friend. In the summertime this is a very popular spot and behind me there is a really nice beach bar but right now is very calm and peaceful. On this visit and right after I set my tripod I tried to cross to the left of the scene to put my camera bag down. In the process I slipped on the rock and while trying to save the gear (who wouldn’t 😂😂) I obtained a couple of bruises and cuts. That was not enough to stop me as I really liked the ambience and the soft tones. One would think that this is the end of the story but no...after sun went down and I packed away I decided to wash my hand in the sea to clean it; as I was approaching the water I see my phone (in slow motion) falling from my pocket into the water. I can tell two things: 1. I am surprised that my phone still works and 2. It’s not pleasant going in the water in January!
Thank you for looking and sorry for the essay but I thought it was quite funny (retrospectively obviously!)

taken two years ago during our ocean crossing from hawaii to SF (somewhere near the middle, a thousand miles from land in any direction) -- reworked recently & so am finally posting...
it turned out lighter in tone/mood than this one, taken only minutes apart but probably pointing in slightly different directions, hence getting a slightly different relationship of light to ocean...
I actually remembered to post a bokeh shot today for HBW (Happy Bokeh Wednesday), yay! HBW all! ;-)))
A calm day for 937, which is just an empty coal train today. The Midland Line hopper on its way to Hillside workshops for repairs.

It is such a treat to watch these otters hunting in the waterways in the middle of the city, Singapore.
The smooth reflective surface of the Maroondah reservoir was broken a short time later with some light rain. But this was a beautiful view with the deep clouds and mist. Victoria
I decided to shoot this one with a long exposure to try to beautify the raging torrents of water that were passing beside me.

After a rainy day the storm clouds started breaking up just before sunset. I gotta love it when that happens...

Symphyotrichum laeve (Smooth blue aster)
Symphyotrichum laeve (formerly Aster laevis) is a flowering plant native to Canada and the United States.
The flower heads are arranged in clusters (panicles). Each flower head has 13 to 23 ray florets with pale to dark blue or purple petals (laminae), and 19 to 33 disc florets that start out yellow and eventually turn purplish-red. The whole flowerhead measures 13 to 25 millimeters (1⁄2 to 1 in) across.
