Even the cows appreciated the smooth sailing when we made our way through the Beagle Chanel on our passage around Cape Horn at the southern tip of South America.

A northern pintail takes off from the Big Salt Marsh at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge in Stafford County, KS.
Shot in Munich Botanical Gardens with Sony A7 MII and Meyer-Goerlitz Trioplan 100/2.8 attached with Adapter.
This red tailed hawk had taken off from a tall perch, and was making slow circles over the area. Near Commonwealth Lake.

Crotophaga ani (Smooth-billed Ani / Garrapatero)
The Smooth-billed Ani is a widespread resident of scrub and forest clearings from the Caribbean and Costa Rica south to Uruguay and northern Argentina; it also occurs in south Florida, although the population there has declined significantly there in recent years. Smooth-billed Anis live in small flocks and eat a variety of insects, small vertebrates and fruit.

A very high and fast-flowing River Coquet approaching Weldon Bridge. Sadly my photo-session was brought to an abrupt end by yet another prolonged torrential downpour, yet I had left the house just 20 mins earlier in glorious late autumn sunshine.
This storm was preceded by spectacular altocumulus asperitas clouds. Some of the smooth structures are still visible in this photo as well.
The thunderstorm was a joy to behold and photograph.
