It is such a treat to watch these otters hunting in the waterways in the middle of the city, Singapore.
I decided to shoot this one with a long exposure to try to beautify the raging torrents of water that were passing beside me.

After a rainy day the storm clouds started breaking up just before sunset. I gotta love it when that happens...

It is a moment in time, a fraction of our lives, that we should stand still and reflect. I should train myself to do that more often...
Smooth snow drifts contrast with the sharp barbs on a fence near Bennington, Idaho. We had a couple of inches of new snow over the last few days and a lot of wind blew it into drifts around piles of plowed snow. Late afternoon shadows help define the drift shapes.

Britain's most common and most successful duck the mallard. So common I nearly always take them for granted and go off in pursuit of more elusive species.

The Thompson River that runs through Kamloops, was absolutely glass smooth for this shot. And, the ever moving clouds were delivering some interesting patterns on the distant Native territory hill. While it looked peaceful enough, one more element was needed to add some spice to this otherwise tranquil moment.
The root leaves one wondering how it got there considering the low level of the water. After all, it is just a root and therefore not very deep. It contributes to the story by subversively informing us of the depth of the river. All this should be under water, and when it was deep, the root would have floated into place. We are left pondering the absence of water.
