Step right into the "Smallest Mancave" - a quirky converted outhouse that's disguised as your average everyday shack, but wait for the surprise when you swing open the door! Inside, you'll find a delightful disaster zone filled with weed, posters that scream "bro, it's man time," an impressive collection of beer bottles that rivals a frat party, and more men's magazines than you can shake a mustache comb at. It's proof that size doesn't matter when it comes to having a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek escape all to yourself. So, gentlemen, prepare to chuckle, kick back, and embrace the epic messiness of the "Smallest Mancave" - because a little chaos with a side of laughter never hurt anyone!

The smallest honeyeater in Australia, right on my front yard tree!
We have the old and quite big Callistemon tree, the red bottle-brush flowers bursting out now, and I was delighted to see it attracts lots of honeyeaters. Yesterday the flock of a dozen of this scarlet honeyeater was feeding on the tree, and it is first time I could see them so close. It is hard to photograph due it's small size, but gosh, I had a great opportunity!
The bird is strikingly coloured and identical red to the flowers (the favourite food) as you can see.
Testing the Hasselblad Teleconverter 1.4x e with a 250mm Sonnar lens. Amazing sharpness as seen by the little hairs along the edge of the leaf, very shallow depth of field at f5.6 in this image.
This sleek-coated bear is the smallest bear species. It lives in tropical rainforests, where it spends its time searching the trees for fruit, tender palm tips, insects, birds and small mammals. Sun bears are even known to raid cocoa and palm plantations in search of food. Their large paws with bare soles and curved claws help make them excellent climbers, and they often nest in trees.
The sun bear's curved front claws and long tongue help it dig through termite colonies and pull out the insects.
The number of sun bears has declined because of habitat loss, as well as hunting for the pet market and the Asian medicinal trade.

The Smallest
You hear God speak
and you see God in action
not in the lives of men
with their closed minds
and selfish hearts,
their souls too deeply entrenched;
but in the smiling faces, the voices
the breath and heart beats
of the smallest.
God is here among us
in the open, tender souls
of the children.
It is our doing
our growing away
instead of up
that silences the voice and
blurs the vision
of his presence within.

Azenhas do Mar, especially this year, is really small. You have to wait until the low tide to have any sand at all, at the high tide there are only rocks.
I was taking shots of Sanderlings when this Sparrow-sized bird skittered by. He was so small - hence the name: Least Sandpiper.

Tiny grass blue, Zizula hylax, one of the smallest butterflies and probably the smallest in Australia.
Depuis quelques années ont peut compter sur la présence de harles couronnés, grèbes bigarrés, cormorans et, avec un peu de chance un canard souchet (comme me disait mon collègue photographe Daniel cet après-midi).
Just one of the species that seems to apprciate a seasonal halt on this small urban pond. This female Hoody is sharing its intimacy with a couple of Pied-billed grebes, Cormorants, Canada Geese, Gulls and Ducks of all bills. Although she is the smallest of the afore mentioned she is nonetheless well equipped to impose herself. Quite a set of "teeth" she sports.
Smallest gull in the world. Compact with short legs, short rounded wings, and small bill. Breeding adults have black head, pale gray back, white wingtips, and blackish underwings. Nonbreeding adults have a black ear patch and smudgy cap. Immatures are similar to nonbreeding adults but with a black “M”-shaped pattern on the upperwing, especially noticeable in flight. When perched, this looks like a thick horizontal stripe across the wing and shoulder. Primarily a Eurasian species, breeding in marshy wetlands and wintering offshore or in coastal waters. Uncommon to rare in North America, where typically found singly among flocks of Bonaparte’s Gulls on lakes, beaches, estuaries, or bays. Note adult Little Gull's smaller size, white wingtips, dark underwings, and more rounded wings compared to Bonaparte's. eBird
The smallest Robin!
I've never seen it before, he made me happy.
Today I changed my camera's "focus tracking setting" and the result is not what I wanted.
The clarity is not what I expected.
What happens to Robins in the winter?
In the winter, they become nomadic, searching widely for their favorite cold-weather fare. Weather also influences robin movements. A heavy snowfall that persists for more than a few days may send them on their way, searching for better conditions. Robins also form flocks in the winter.
Can Robins survive snow?
Even in freezing temperatures, robins can stay warm enough to make staying through the winter worthwhile. ... If you want to observe robins in winter, try putting out water for them. They can survive on their own by eating snow, but birds always welcome a source of unfrozen water for drinking and bathing.
What do Robins eat when there is snow on the ground?
There isn't much one can feed robins in the winter. They're very adept at finding their preferred food and rarely visit feeding stations. During severe weather, robins may eat raisins, berries, or pieces of apples placed on the ground.
Do robins sing all day?
We know that robins are one of the first species to begin singing every morning. ... They sing the most early in the morning and at evening twilight after sunset. They sing the least around noon. We thought we could figure out approximately how many songs they sing each hour through the day, and add these up.
What is the sound of a robin singing?
It's a string of 10 or so clear whistles assembled from a few often-repeated syllables, and often described as cheerily, cheer up, cheer up, cheerily, cheer up. The syllables rise and fall in pitch but are delivered at a steady rhythm, with a pause before the bird begins singing again. At dawn, the song is more rapid.
Why do robins sing in winter?
The sound of a robin chirping in winter is a good sign, say scientists. It means the bird has built up enough fat reserves to survive the cold nights and has enough energy left to defend its territory. The bird traditionally sings in spring to attract a mate but in winter, when food is short, it faces a dilemma.

The Quinault Rain Forest is a temperate rain forest, which is part of the Olympic National Park and the Olympic National Forest in the U.S. state of Washington in Grays Harbor County and Jefferson County. The rain forest is located in the valley formed by the Quinault River and Lake Quinault. The valley is called the "Valley of the Rain Forest Giants" because of the number of record size tree species located there. The largest specimens of Western Red Cedar, Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock, Alaskan Cedar and Mountain Hemlock are found in the forest as well as five of the ten largest Douglas-firs. The forest receives an average of 12 feet of rain per year. It is believed to be the area with the greatest number of record size giant tree species in the smallest area in the world. It does have the largest trees in the world outside of the state of California and New Zealand.

The Ruby-crowned Kinglet, one of North America's smallest songbirds, has a loud, complex song and, with up to 12 eggs, lays the largest clutch of any North American passerine for its size. Males and females are nearly identical in plumage -- olive green-gray on the upperparts with two strong white wing-bars and a broken, white eye-ring. The male has a scarlet crown patch, which is usually concealed unless agitated.
During migration and winter, the Ruby-crowned Kinglet occupies a variety of habitats and is often recognized by its constant wing-flicking. As a breeder, it inhabits spruce-fir forests of the northern and mountainous western United States and Canada. Its nest is hidden, often near the trunk and up to 30 meters above the ground, making reproductive data difficult to gather. Much remains to be learned about the breeding biology and behavior of this species.
Downy is the smallest woodpecker in N america. And I have a pair(I think, it could be more than one pair) in my feeder. I love this little things, other birds kind of wait when they are in the feeder. I've never seen them attacking or shooing other birds away, but they like to keep distance.

I'm sorry for my absence, I've been really busy.
The snow around me haven't really be helping much either, but I it will soon melt and I will be up again.
I'm planning on finishing my 52 week project in only a couple of days, and thinking about doing a print giveaway. Does that sound good?
love you all
