I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to going to this networking thing for "young professionals" because if there is one thing that unnerves me (and that's putting it mildly), it's hanging out with a bunch of strangers making smalltalk. But I put my big girl pants on and went- all by myself- and made some new friends. Turns out there are some pretty fun creative types in town, and as the night (and silliness) progressed, I found myself rather enjoying the company. I also proved to myself that I can go to stuff like this and be juuuuuuust fine. I'd say it was success. :)
P.S. I chose the focal zoom on this one because it seemed appropriate for the amount of blurriness the evening took on as it progressed.

This drawing is based on a photograph of my best friend and I when we were little, and I replaced her head with the head of a cat. The double-ended speech bubble parallels the long-distance friendship my friend and I have maintained, despite her having moved to South Korea when we were in 5th grade.
