Sometimes, small, hand-made gifts are the best. This one was made by a quiet, humble woman from Korea, and given to us with the utmost love. We don't have a Christmas tree, so we hung it with other ornaments on a 4-foot palm in our house.

Today, I was frustrated twice.
At first, as I met a jumping spider which I’ve really anticipated, I was so surprised and happy. But soon, I was frustrated that the batteries in my camera was almost dead. I could take only some photos of it.
I was frustrated again, when I opened photos in the lightroom. The sensor of my camera was so dirty. I came near crying…:-(
This small straight peen hammer is another unidentified find. The handle is unmarked and the head only bears the number 16 which might be the model. It could be a Swedish Tor hammer as the design looks very similar, but I can't be sure.
The next set of smaller vehicles for my Rennies model fleet include two 1970s Transit van conversion minibuses - that on the left was a recent ebay win. The Plaxton Beaver model replaces the Western National one I had intended to use. Thanks to 'Quicksilver Coaches' for pointing out there was a roofbox-less version - another ebay win. The Solo has been relieved of its paintwork since last seen
Warmer calmer night yields a better catch including a new for garden micro.
On Sunday it was of course Father's Day, and after a busy day seeing both sides of the family, the trap was switched on when I returned home.
A muggy and warmer night, with lighter winds was on the cards but it did cool down a little more than predicted and we lost the humidity with lows of 11c.
8 new for year species were recorded including a new for garden record.
I was convinced I had recorded the odd little 'white eye-capped' Opostega salaciella before, but I got mixed up with taking it on a field trip and in France on holiday, a nice feeling to know that I was wrong and that it was indeed to be the 344th species of Micro Moth for the garden
So close to 700 species, Opostega salaciella makes it 699 for the garden since 2012
Garden species count for 2019 now upto 177.

Found these on a rock in Wales, they initially looked like small black dots, decided to investigate and was amazed to find these tiny globular Springtails, easily the smallest I have found :)
I think this may be Sminthurinus niger, will try for a reversed lens shot next time I find one of these, really hard to get a sharp focus on these :)
I think I'm done with large quilts. I've taken more interest in small projects lately. This top is a machine-pieced railfence and has been donated to a charity. It measures approximately 64" square.
I noticed the small(er) green bug on inspecting the photo after I got home (didn't see it as I was watching the butterfly). Then I noticed the tiny orange one under the butterfly's feet. (I checked the shots I took just before this one and the orange dot is moving. Definitely an insect.) Cool.
Edit: Changed moth to butterfly thanks to Wade's expertise. Many thanks.
Three members of my favourite class in three different liveries in period order! GWR 5542 leads BR Black 5526 with BR Green 5552 on the rear.
Today was another photo walk so I parked in Glynde and did a circular walk via Lewes back to the car just over 14 miles and two climbs up onto the downs. Anyway the weather was great with a cooling breeze there are a number of areas on this walk which are alive with butterflies so lots of images with the odd bird sheep and dragonflies thrown in.
