Another shot of a small fly on a tansy leaf in the garden, possibly one of the minettia fasciata species group, on day 19 of 30 Days Wild.
Though dry, it was a fairly overcast day near the east coast. One butterfly seen in reasonable numbers was the small skipper.
This was easily the most common species seen at this location, and often on these flowers. I do not know what the flower is but there were many growing wild at the edge of the beach.

Sinónimo: Fagus sylvatica L. var chinensis Franch. Arboles caducifolios de hasta 25 m de alto. Yemas invernales de hasta 1,5 cm. Hoja ovadas, elíptico ovadas o, rara vez, oblongo ovadas, de 5-10 cm de largo, haz verde oscuro y glabro, envés glauco y glabro, excepto los pelos sedosos a lo laro de los nervios, base anchamente cuneada a casi redondeada o subcordada, ápice cortamente acuminado, margen sinuado, con 9-14 pares de nervios secundarios que se curvan hacia el ápice, peciolo de 0,5-1,5 cm. Frutos con un pedúnculo de 2-7 cm de largo, cúpula de 1,5-1,8 cm, con bracteas basales verdosas, parecidas a hojas, glabras y nerviadas, brácteas apicales parduscas, filiformes y pilosas, nueces ligeramente exertas, ápice con 3 pequeñas alas. Nativa de bosques de montaña de China, en las provincias de Anhui, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan y Yunnan. En Iturraran se encuentra en la zona 1.

Berez Txinako mendiko basoetakoa da, Anhui, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan eta Yunnan probintzietakoa. Iturraranen 1. gunean dago.

Fruits avec un pédoncule de 2-7 cm de long, coupole de 1,5-1,8 cm, avec des bractées basales verdâtres, semblables à des feuilles, glabres et nervurées, bractées apicales brunâtres, filiformes et pileuses, noix légèrement sorties, sommet avec 3 petites ailes. Originaires des forêts montagneuses de Chine, dans les provinces de Anhui, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan et Yunnan. À Iturraran il se trouve dans la zone 1.

Species native to the mountain forests of China, in the provinces of Anhui, Guangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan and Yunnan. Located in zone 1 in Iturraran.
