Before I start getting type cast as snail woman let me just say that the emerald green seaweed that was growing on this mangrove root at the shore is what first drew me in to take a closer look. Then this little guy crawled up from underneath. Snails do happen to be intriguing creatures. They seem quite emotionless and maybe even brainless and yet they slowly go go about their daily routine just like any creature, plus they carry their home on their backs. I've posted 3 or 4 snails found around my property recently and each one has been a different species. I'm amazed at the great variety of snails with different shell shapes and markings, that live in all sorts of environments. This happens to be a sea snail and it's name is Fasciocolaria tulipa or True Tulip Snail. They grow up to 7 inches but everything has to start somewhere and this one was just about 1 inch long. View large on black and you can get a view of his eye which on the base of his antennae.
I was able to get right up close to him which put the front element of my lens about 5 inches from him and get a nice close shot. This is un-cropped.

Location
Hang Rai Beach in Thai An village is located near Vinh Hy Bay, which is about 50 km from Phan Rang City, Ninh Thuan Province and 400 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This beach is kind of unique because there are no volcanic rocks in the area except for this place, it looks as if they were placed there, but they were not, these rocks have been here for thousands of years. What interesting is, there is a tan color rock among the gray volcanic ones.
Time
At sunset, the tide was high, so I focused on getting the soft water motion onto the volcanic rocks by using a long exposure.
Ephemeral Hydrodynamics: The Arboreal Leap in High-Speed
Description
Visual Analysis: A close-up study of arboreal agility within the Amazon basin. This sequence isolates the biomechanics of a tropical tree frog (likely of the family Centrolenidae or Hylidae) navigating a high-humidity environment.
The footage, captured at a high frame rate, deconstructs the chaotic motion of a rainforest downpour. It reveals the precise moment of propulsion, where the amphibian’s muscles release stored elastic energy to overcome the surface tension of the wet foliage. Note the hydrophobic interaction between the subject's skin and the suspended water droplets, creating a lens-like effect that highlights the texture of the epidermis.
Technical Note: The shallow depth of field serves to separate the subject from the dense jungle background, creating a creamy bokeh that accentuates the sharpness of the eye and the limbs. The lighting setup emphasizes the translucency of the skin and the refractive quality of the rain, turning a biological survival mechanism into a study of fluid dynamics and motion blur.

"Guinness is an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness (1725–1803) at St. James's Gate brewery in the capital city of Dublin, Ireland. Guinness, produced by the Diageo beverages company, is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide. It is brewed in almost 50 countries and is available in over 120.
Guinness features a burnt flavour that is derived from malted barley and roasted unmalted barley. The use of roasted barley is a relatively modern development, not becoming part of the grist until the mid-20th century. For many years, a portion of aged brew was blended with freshly brewed beer to give a sharp lactic flavour. Although Guinness's palate still features a characteristic 'tang', the company has refused to confirm whether this type of blending still occurs. The draught beer's thick, creamy head comes from mixing the beer with nitrogen and carbon dioxide when poured."

"The world famous Guinness widget uses an ingenious nitrogen filled capsule that surges with bubbles when the ring pull is opened – replicating the draught experience in a can."

The Dublin City Liffey Swim is one of the most famous open sea races throughout the world.
It is unique in that Dublin is the only capital country in Europe to have a swimming race through the middle of the city. The Dublin City Liffey Swim is the highlight of the open sea swimming season.

I know. Another hummingbird video. Gotta make hay while the sun shines. Actually, I'm more interested in seeing how my software editing programs work and want to look at the final product after going through uploads, etc.
Bottom line is, it's all about me.
If you look at the reflection in the bird's eye, the rectangular thing in the top center is my blind. About 5 feet away from the bird, shooting through a hole in a piece of cardboard I have covering part of the opening. Don't think it would matter much, but better than risking blowing a shot.

I almost put my life on the line taking this shot!
The ice slippery rocks were just waiting to make me slip and fall in the river!
But i came victorius, and took this shot and my weapon was a sony a100 on a tripod!
Some Friday fun. One of the really cool features of the Nikon D850 is the ability to do slow motion videos. It records at 120fps and plays back at 30fps. This Woodhouse's Scrub-jay had a hard time deciding which peanut was the best, and rummaged through the pile before finally making its choice. I love that you can see hummingbirds flitting about in the background. The hummers are pretty much gone now, but it was a great summer for them.
Thanks so much for viewing and have a wonderful weekend!

After a stormy night I was thinking that it would be to rough sea this morning, but the wind comes from another direction, so the waves was not to big. So; I had to try to freeze the time and make the ocean slow. I love the color of the blue hour out here at the south coast of Norway.
Kensington Market, Toronto ON 30 Oct 2016
Today should be Pedestrian Sunday in Toronto's Kensington Market. But thanks to the pandemic, is is not happening. Here are memories of 30 October 2016.
Video is mostly in slow motion shot with the SONY RX100 IV. Soundtrack is a field-recording of one of the bands who played the market that day.

I find images with a dominant red color are very difficult to post-process and this one is no exception. It took me several tries before I could get this image to a point that I liked.

Short, slow motion clip, of the two juvenile Peregrine Falcons
As a fledgling falcon stands undecided at the edge of a cliff, its sibling arrives just in time to share some tricks on how to efficiently “operate” its wings😊 Both falcons stood and flapped their wings for a few minutes and finally took off, one after another, to practice their flights.
