A crazy day and very tense build up for this event. Watching from 41st floor of Marriott Hotel opposite - around 200 meters away.
When the first of 2 detonations goes off, you can see the glass flex.
The exterior drops first, then the interior (its only one building).
In the upper left you can see thousands of people watching - 40k+ turned up to the city to see this.
On the ground around the building you can see water being sprayed up, to catch as much dust as possible!
great experience being so close!
once in a lifetime! Shot with an Iphone5s
I slowed 30fps 10x to catch various lightning discharges in more detail. These three strikes represent: (1) multiple flashes (negative); (2) fading strike (positive); and (3) quick powerful discharge (super bolt, probably positive).
Ignore the landscaping equipment in my backyard. This slow motion clip (240 fps) was taken with a GoPro 10 in wide field mode. I froze the frame when the bolt connected with the ground. This exposure was only ~1/240 sec and resembled bright daylight.
Pretty cool!
Williamson Ravine, Toronto ON, 9 Nov 2020
The Williamson Ravine is a segment of the Small's/Tomlin's creek ravine system in Toronto's east end. Once a part of the old Toronto Golf Course, it survived as a ravine feature while the surroundings were turned into housing.
Many of Toronto's ravines have lost their creeks, but Small's Creek still runs on the surface here.

Gainsborough Ravine, Toronto On 19 Nov 2020
Another ravine fragment of the Small's/Tomlins Creek system in Toronto's east end. Once part of the old Toronto Golf Course, redeveloped for housing in the 1910s. The ravine saw a lot of dumping of ashes and rubbish from the 1920s onwards. Now it survives as a ravine fragment with a short surface watercourse.
and so what i'm loosely calling the october 2009 burst of creativity abstract series comes to a close
over 20 works in a month!
and for those who pay attention, the title of this work is borrowed and twisted about from a song by WIR (when they were three members and therefore lost their E)

Slow motion video taken at 240fps in Pro Camera on iPhone 6s -no audio. I took this video while on an afternoon walk in San Jose, Ca. When I saw the bees in afternoon sun I decided to try out the 240fps video setting on my iPhone.
Sit-rep.....19/04/2022.
Our team has landed on a strange planet. It is a mostly civilised world, but everything is huge! We sent out an unmanned full size SUV to explore first. So far it has found huge concrete like roads, long grassy fields and a huge hangar like structure. Time to bring it back to the mother-ship and see what we make of it all.

Cascading stream at the bottom of the Bridal Falls east of Chilliwack BC. I must say that this is one of the places that I truly love going back to. I have been there few times and majority of them wearing rubber boots. For anyone who wants to take pictures of the streams – rubber boots are essential – honest.

TREASURE comeback Feb. 15th
I was on a photowalk with Eva and Johan, toward the end of the walk we saw this fountain.
And being such a beautiful and sunny day it was a perfect moment for slowmotion water.

This was an impressive transitional process from one photo to another. The image seemed to melt away in slow motion.
